Smoking Canadian Victory Cigar
Well I am a lot happier now than I was about an hour ago. It was a very difficult choice for the cigar tonight but the knod goes to Pierce.

Re: Smoking Canadian Victory Cigar
Where the Sam Mitchell option?
Stupid move having Kapono guard Pierce and not letting Bosh touch the ball in the last few minutes.
Seriously though, PP by a landslide.

The Truth was amazing in the 4th. The rest of his game was terrible (bill walton voice) but he came through. Oh Captain, my Captain!

He has been ridiculously good when it's mattered so far this season.

Re: Smoking Canadian Victory Cigar
Having House also helped spread the floor for Pierce's one on one shots against Kapono.
Great move on the part of Doc.

Re: Smoking Canadian Victory Cigar
I thought Pierce would have a big game but it sure didn't look like it for 3 quarters. what a 4th quarter though= that was epic and Bird like. Just a great win for us tonight. Kapono and parker kept making big shot after big shot ; I didn't think we would be able to overcome their shooting but then Pierce got hot and eddie, ray and KG hit big shots and somehow we pulled this out. whew!!!
"Now, there's a steal by Bird..!"

Toss up between JO and Pierce, but I went with the captain.
PP is the anti-JO.

Re: Smoking Canadian Victory Cigar
Pierce brought it home but honorable mention to Ray who kept this thing from being 20 in the first half and the Leon Baby for holding things down in the front court around the quarters in the second half.

I'm making a statement and voted for Ray tonight. The poor guy keeps getting picked on... overpaid and all...

Oh man i wanted to choose the second option so badly but i had to go with Pierce. It would be a crime to not pick pierces performance.

Re: Smoking Canadian Victory Cigar
Ray gets credit - best in game + / - and easily our best player in the first half, maybe the first three quarters, and even came through in crunch time.
KG gets credit - overlooked here is that Bosh was held under 10 points.
I'll actually give the refs a slight bit of credit too. One horrible and one really bad call went against the Raps at inpportune times in the 3rd quarter. There was at least one horrible make up call (offensive foul on TA) early in the 4th, but the refs really helped us maintain momentum and get the crowd behind us at a key time in the game.
That said, no way anyone should be voting for anyone outside of PP. Regardless of what happened the first three quarters, he was going to do what it took to win in the 4th. He would have finished with another two or three assists as well if Doc got KG and/or Ray back in the game sooner in the 4th.
And we should remember the strategy IMO - let JO score at will in the first half to give him a false sense of security, and then turn him into a complete offensive liability in the 2nd half.

Re: Smoking Canadian Victory Cigar
pierce gets this without a doubt.
KG did his job by keeping us in the game and shutting down his clone.
JO should be given credit for his TO's down the stretch. He actually made TA look good who also had 2 crucial back to back TO's. lol
