Somewhere Acie Earl is smiling

And somewhere Eric Montross is getting a haircut
Sherman Douglas still looks about 13
Stojko is still learning the language
And Joe Forte still sucks!

Why do you care? You don't. Do I care, no not really except for Stojko. :)
Why do I make this ridiculous thread? Lack of sleep yes but also....

Because I don't feel like seeing threads about our past players every single time they have a decent performance. Yes I like some of them and yes I still wish we had Al and that Gerald became the all-star I thought he would be (ouch on that) yes i had hopes for Telfair and I liked Gomes. blah

Yes it's nice to see our past players doing well and it's cool to route for them but c'mon....

Gerald starting for the Mavs tonight! Great, bring it to the Mavs board or better yet...

How bout a stickied thread about our past players performances minus Blount?

Sorry to be a grump but it's early!

You know I was thinking the exact same thing, I get tired of all the **** "Gerald Green played today" threads...he's not on our **** team, we don't want him on our **** team, get over it people, or post it in the general NBA board!

And I'm not even tired!

I agree. Maybe we should have a sticky like some other boards named around the NBA or something like that, where we could talk about what is going on around the league and our ex players...

I heard Dino Radja farted this morning.

Actually, he's been spending time in Boston recently, read it in the Globe yesterday...

Dunno about the farting, though...

In one forum I frequent, there's a sticky "Threads of interest on other boards," with links to same.

It's not a sports board at all, but the same idea might work here. If there's a thread in another team's forum about a player we care about, somebody can post a link here. :)

I don't know, I find the fact that Gerald Green is starting on any team let alone the mavericks is worth at least one measly thread.

I disagree. Once a player is part of the Celtics family, always a part of the Celtics family.

The way I see it, it is nice to see how the guys are doing. And fact is we don't really have THAT much to talk about. It isn't like those threads are getting in the way and causing an overload.

I cheer for the front of the jersey, not the back.

I'll follow some ex Celtics but to be honest once they are gone it's just not the same. I have trouble routing for them while they are on other teams well because I'm not the type that can like multiple teams.

^^Where the hell were you "front of the jersey" guys when Antoine left the C's??

I was cheering for Raef and hoping he'd help us.
I cheered for Toine when he came back
I respect him for bleeding green but when he wears another jersey....IT'S WAR! lol

^Wow, I was hoping Raef would get hurt so he wouldn't have to play...MAN did he suck. Antoine for Raef was one of the worst trades ever!

To be fair, that trade was about a) getting rid of a player that didn't fit the system Ainge envisioned, and b) acquiring a HUGE, soon-to-be expiring contract. A total rebuilding trade that definitely panned out. It CERTAINLY was not about getting skill for skill.

Raef helped us at times but yes a huge disappointment. To think we could jave gotten Jason Terry instead of Raef (That's what the Mavs got for him from the Hawks)

^^How did that trade pan out? We ended up having to dump Raef on a team MORE desperate to get rid of even more dreck and **** (Portland)...our rebuilding was done IN SPITE of Raef and his sundry transactions, not because of them!

Yep, it coulda woulda shoulda been Terry and one first round pick less (Tony or Delonte). And then it wouldn't have cost a lottery pick to dump him.

But lots of other things might then have been different as well.

^^True...and they say you really have to suffer to succeed...we certainly did with Raef here! (among others)

So Mods, good idea/bad idea on a stickied thread for past Celtics?

Hook it up

I have some passing interest in Big Al since watching his progression was one of the few positives in that lost season, but rarely follow the others. Actually at times I'm hoping ex-Celtics really stink it up, I like to see when the Celts get good value in a trade.

I'm not sure where all the passion for GG comes from. Isn't he now an ex-Rocket? Or an ex-TWolf?

At the end of the day, I cheer for everything Celtics, and cheer against everything that could adversely affect the Celtics. If Wally and West go 0 for 100 on a west coast trip and the Cavs get blown out, I`m happy. If Gerald scores 80 when Dallas plays the Pistons and Dallas wins, I`ll be happy. Otherwise I couldn`t care less if he`s in the league or working at a Burger King drive through window.
