"Kwame Inserted into Pistons' Starting Lineup"

Hahaha.

What a sad sack that guy is.

His career highlights are being one of the worst #1 picks ever and getting traded for Caron Butler.

And being traded for Gasol.

I'm watching this game (it's only 8:15 in LA) and Kwame is terrible. To think that he was traded for Gasol is stunning. To think that Laker and other fans compare the KG trade to the Gasol trade is simply tragic.

you all shall fear the wrath of Kwame!

he's decent enough for 15-20mins, but i don't think i could stomache him as a full time 30mins+ starter.

Remember by acquiring Gasol via trade the Lakers saved face for giving up on Butler.

Kwame Brown making millions of dolars off basketball makes you wonder is there any meaning or justice in this world. Any meaning at all.

That trade was pretty lopsided but Memphis was trying to save cap room and Marc Gasol looks decent in the end they couldve gotten a lot more though.

Rasheed, you are a VERY nice guy, and I admire that in people, I really do, but DAMN! He's decent enough for 2-3 minutes getting your starters Gatorade while they rest on the bench, as long as his stone hands don't make him drop the cups on the starters so they look like they peed their pants.

Sounds like Scal, only Scal is only valuable for 30 sec to a minute!

Kwame Brown starting, and trading Billups for AI. TWO reasons why Detroit has no chance at a title this year either.

I honestly won't be surprised if they have a hard time getting home court for the first round...it was a salary dump move made a year too late (should have blown it up after 2007) and NO ONE is going to go to Detroit in the free agent crop of 2009-10...they're gonna suck for a long time, and I'll be lovin' it! :rocking:

The only way Detroit stays near the top in the Eastern Conference is if McDyess comes back. If he doesn't, then they are officially toast.

I watched the game last night, and Kwame looked pretty solid out there against the Lakers. I mean not horrible or anything.

Kwame's a solid defender, but he's got Blount hands and TA's fluctuating confidence levels. Is he replacing Amir Johnson in the starting lineup?

It was just a size issue, with Gasol and Bynum Amir would have been really over matched size wise. It turned out to be a good move, he was actually *gasp* good or at least serviceable.

as sad as it seems for a first pick, if the team can put him in a position to succeed, he'll do it. He was perfect against the soft FC of the Lakers and established position on the offensive end. Kind of like what he did against PHX like two years back

yeah, Kwame is in an unfair position due to Jordan drafting him #1 and then the Wizards giving him that contract, if he had been picked where Leon was, nobody would be talking about him. A #1 pick isn't expected to just be a passable NBA player, roleplayer, or bench muscle, and that's why Kwame has the reputation he does. However, I doubt he's bothered by it that much, the money he made probably makes the ridicule worth it.
