Positive Board

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Sun Nov 16, 2008 5:32 pm

I have wondered how our C's could be 9-2????
If I went by the majority of posts here I would think we would be maybe 2-9....here's an example....

I am disappointed with Rondo
Let's trade Ray
Whats wrong with Paul
KG needs to Board more
What's wrong with the bench
Perk Sucks
Doc sucks
This team will never repeat
How come we don't win by 20 every night
How come we aren't undefeated

Well I made a few up but you get the understanding.....so negative.
So negative it borders of funny.
I guess I answered my own question...it's just funny.

8-)

ps.....we're also the Defending Champs...so smile 8-)

well the fact that we're the defending champs is the reason for a lot of this stuff (and i guess due to high expectations early to mid regular season last year) because we basically demand success and expect much more out of our team

which in the end, makes us more critical.

Yes. And a lot of posters are simply jerks. No way around it. You've too many posters that think they know everything and don't know jack spit.

As said, Boston is the defending champion, you've three All-Stars, an inconsistent bench and it's too early in the season to lose these games to who they'd lost to. The losses (and slow starts) are what surprises me. Especially, to Denver... I'll give them Indiana since I believe that was the Pacers first home game of the season so they were fired up. The Celtics should be fine until mid season. I'm curious to see what the competition, like Cleveland, does before the trade deadline.

Kefa461, like pballa said, it's because of the high expectations.

A few days ago in the paper, Doc even mentioned that we are the most miserable 8-2 team because they know they can play much better.

I don't think there are many Celtic fans who aren't grateful for being able to witness a championship after 22 years. We are lucky for that because many teams have never even won one.

yes and you just see this team this year. I don't know if it's the championship after-glow. But even as a fan you're more at peace and watching them you know you're looking at a team that is a rare feat to achieve.

I think the opposite, I think Ray Pierce and KG are fiiring on all cylinders. I can't recall many games last year where each of KG,Pierce, and Ray all had good games in the same game. I think that's happen 5 out of 8 times this year.

Pierce is playing at a higher level defensively and it looks like he hasn't dropped off offensively at all.

When I watch the team I feel like this is how it was suppose to be last year when we were suppose to just miss the championship, then this year we were suppose to come out with the determination and dominate like we did last season.

But you look at this team, and hwo good the big three are currently, and it is only natural to assume they should at least have a blowout ever 10 games since last year it appeared to be every other game.

i think its the same stuff we used to talk about when we had the second worst record in the L.

It is easy to find stuff to argue about when a team sucks, but much harder when we are the champs.

I think more than a few threads are based on the 'I'm bored, lets throw this out there and see what people think' principal (also known on this board as the "gonzo theory' :) )

Message boards lend themselves to being negative overall. How often does someone write a three paragraph about how happy they are about something. But some of us are just crazy negative MF's who can't see the bright side of sunny day.

really high expectations for us but were also not performing like we did last year at this point. however, considering the toughest schedule for us, were doing pretty well.

it is because in general, we have to repeat for us to be called a dynasty. It is also what we have to do to become extraordinary and pass the celtic dynasty standards.

I love my team. I became a massive fan in about '91 as a 12 year old kid just starting to play basketball down here in Australia. Within a few years, the Big Three were gone, Reggie was gone and we were one of the worst teams in the league. Last year was the first 50 win season since '92 (I think). Apart from Conference Finals run in '02 I haven't seen a whole lot of success. If anything it made me more of a fan. I remember thinking if it wasn't for all the injuries, ML Carr's 15 win wonders would have been a playoff team.

Then all of a sudden we win the whole thing. And you know what, it might never happen again in my lifetime. Or we might win another five. Be thankful we have a strong contending team, that is full of good character guys, and has a strong front office.

I wasn't being negative when I wrote the post about KG and being under the boards. Besides the name of the post was "Should KG stay under the boards more?" I still think we have the best team in the league. I just wanted to get other people's opinions on whether it was a good thing that KG takes so many outside shots. I for one think it is because it will prelong his career.

Besides who wants to be on a message board where everyone acts like a bunch of hippies?

Most posters on here are masochistic **** who like it when the team sucks more than when they're good. With a good team they have to nitpick every stupid little detail just to be negative. With a bad team it's so easy to be down on them it takes no effort.

I shudder to think what those people are like in their daily lives with attitudes like that...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

agree whole heartidly with the OP & don't feel like starting another thread, but even tho ray and paul are playing more minutes than I'd like, they are still 2-4 mpg below what they were playing last October/November, and this trend is especially evident when it comes to KGs minutes. This team doesn't have to go all gangbusters, 40mpg for the big 3 to prove that they can hang, they know this, and I think a lot of our struggle is doc trying to lighten the load on our stars and build the benches confidence; smart move so Danny knows if a midseason trade is necessary, and also so the bench can go through the growing pains of losing its leader.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

Much love homedog :D. Just think the C's haven't even played well for most of the season thus far. Once we hit our stride we'll be slashing through opponents like that chick from Kill Bill.
