Celtics are 1 of 4 teams interested in Marbury

It looks like we are out of the Mcdyess race.
With House and Rondo struggling, Doc refusing to give Pruitt and Cassell any minutes, Marbury might be the guy that can help us.
He hasn't played well in the last few years but he is still young and has some game left. If we sign him, we would probably try to trade House and eventually release Cassell to open up a spot for a SF or a big.

Honestly, I'd rather have Sam playing than Marbury...the guy is a cancer and a loser through and through. Just what we DON'T need in the lockerroom...

http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketbal ... 5225.storyIt is believed that the Celtics have little to no interest in Marbury, however, because they believe Cassell can still provide enough as the backup, they have a vested interest in Eddie House (two years, $5.5 million) and want to continue to develop second-year guard Gabe Pruitt at the position.
Makes sense to me that the Celtics have no interest.

It's comical watching all these posters act like the C's are too good to add vets like McDyess, Marbury, etc.
LOL.
How many more times must fringe NBA talents like Eddie House, Tony Allen and Big Baby Davis be exposed before we wake up to reality?

Dice would have been nice, but at this point Marbury is a fringe talent. When's the last time he made a team better? The Knicks are playing pretty well.... how many minutes has he contibuted? If somehow for some awful reason he ended up here I'd certainly root for him to surprise me, but I really don't see it happening. Things are out of sync now but players don't forget how to play, Rondo will be fine and House will start stroking the 3.

I've come to the conclusion that the our Founding Fathers were right and we shouldn't trust the masses. They are not that smart.

You guys are so full of it. Marbury would be great on the Celtics. He is a much better point guard then anyone not named Rondo on our team. Cassell should be an assistant coach and Pruitt can be groomed for another year.

And where does eddie go? Eddie and Marbury got in a jarring match in the preseason earlier. If they can kiss and make up, I guess I wouldn't mind it.
Too bad about dyess though, I really thought he was going to come here.

If Marbury is bought out, he should take a break. He's too caught up in basketball. He needs to get caught up in life.

His talent would be great, his personality isnt. With his ego Big 3 wont have space left in the room

He would have been great in offence for Knicks too, but why do you think they refused to play him even for one minute? Even swallowed ~21 mln. just to get rid of him, that says a lot. We have good atmosphere in the team, why ruin it with Starbury? If we will clearly lack some talent, I'm sure Ainge will get someone, there are enough of good players in the NBA who would fit team nicely.

Umm, you do realize the article said "expected to show interest in Marbury", right? That means nothing.

First of all, we WANTED McDyess on this board, so get your facts straight. Second, Marbury is a loser...the guy is a career loser and locker room cancer...would you want him on YOUR team?
Third, yeah, our "fringe" talents like House, Allen, Davis, Powe have totally gotten exposed by helping us to a 10-2 record and playing better than the starting five right now...Those 20+ points by Powe in Game 2 of the Finals last summer...man that guy stinks, huh?
Dude, when you don't know what you're talking about, it's best to keep quiet...

Why do we need a starbury thread everyday. The dude has a tatoo in his head. What more do you need to know . He is a dumb ass.

Please stop with the Marbury posts. Enough is enough already. If the guy isn't good enough to play for the Knicks, I don't want him. He's either not talented enough anymore, won't change his play to fit the system, or he's a locker room cancer. WHY WOULD WE WANT SOMEONE LIKE THAT?

Thank you for echoing what we've all be saying...the guy is a
LOSERon and off the court...his **** play and horrible "team" attitude, coupled with what a disgusting human being he is (for anyone who still doesn't buy it, read his transcripts in the whole Isiah Thomas trial last year) are not something the C's would ever want. Red would rise from the dead in fury if we ever brought this malcontent here.
Enough. I want to see no more Marbury, Robert Swift, Gerald Green, or trade Ray threads from now on, please, I beg you!!

Is Sam trying to grease the wheels on behalf of the Celtics?
Sam Cassell weighed in from the outside with a veteran's perspective on Stephon Marbury's current situation with the New York Knicks.
"They should let him go," Cassell told The Post before the Celtics beat the Knicks on Tuesday night. "They always tell us to be professional. Be professional about it. Let the man go. Why not?
"I've know Steph for years," Cassell added. "I said a long time ago he was special. That he's still going through all this, it's crazy. Let him go."
