Per ESPN insider.

I won't paste the text but he's going down shortly to join JR. This is good news because obviously there aren't any minutes for him right now.

I actually thought Walker would start getting some minutes at the backup SF...but if he doesn`t play then it is better to send him to D league. I expect him to dominate there...

Let's hope he doesn't knock somebody out when he's down there.

Very little practice time right now due to the busy schedule, unless there are injuries there aren`t going to be any of the Newbies breaking into the rotation soon. Agree Walker should go down, at his point he should to be in the gym practicing.

Yes, if Scal hadn't snapped out of his (extended) slump, I'd expect he might still be up. But I'm glad he'll be getting minutes and, I suspect, appearing a man among boys, down in the D league. Sam inactive, the rooks in D league, Patrick and Pruitt in garbage time--and everyone else healthy. There are worse situations for a team to be in, and there's just no way Doc can give 14 guys minutes. But as the schedule eases up, Pruitt and, if he deserves it, Patrick should be getting more time.

Should be good for Walker has the D League started yet? I am glad they are going down early so they can get intergrated into the team and not just be a side show that comes into town for two weeks like Gerald and Gabe. Because defense is going to what makes or breaks them in Boston.

What everybody else is saying.

First time there's an injury, he'll be back up.

But I'd say the need or lack thereof at SF relates both to Tony and Scal. Scal is only NEEDED against the tallest ones; Tony can compete on defense vs. the rest.

Utah has a preseason game Saturday night, and regular season starts next weekend.

Man I hope they start expanding the d league teams soon. Portland has a chance to get the C's affiliate and I can't wait to get them here. It'd be so great to see our young guys grow like we can with the Sea Dogs. Hopefully next year we may have the chance.

I'm neutral on the matter, it really depends on how the team wants to use him. It's pretty clear they didn't think he was ready and weren't going to give him any PT, so it's best to send him down. I probably would have preferred at least seeing what he can give in some garbage minutes and from that try to see if he's worth giving 5-10 minutes per game to at the backup SF, at least in games where we're going to need a bigger wing than TA off the bench. While Walker isn't ideal for the SF either, he's still got a couple inches on TA.

I've been hoping since the beginning of the D League that each team would get their own affiliate. Even if the Celtics don't get an affiliate near me (Worcester area), it'd be better if it were somewhere in New England, rather than in Utah, where Celtics fans could actually go to the game and give feedback on our players.

i hope they tear it up. there cant be too many wing pairs as talented as that in the DL. i just hope that they quality of competition/teammates doesnt bring them down, the only other guy on the flash who's name i recognized was denham brown.

i would like to see bill and jr bring it on both ends like the powerhouses they were in college and build that confidence

I hear you prophet, I'd love to get to see the D-league celtics in Portland. I like the sea dogs and pirates, but nothing would beat having a C's affiliated team playing at the expo/civic center.

Staying on topic, Walker going to the d-league is probably for the best, he's not going to play here right now, and with Giddens, I think they can get some chemistry going with each other and come back much better. They have all the athletic ability in the world, they just need some experience.

For anyone interested, there is a link off the NBADL home page for something called "NBA Futurecast" - and they indicate they have a free stream for games.

Can a mod make a stickied Flash game thread again when they start up?

There are games on KJZZ TV sometimes if you have a way of finding that online.

Anyways one week you are suiting up for the World Champion Celtics in the Garden and the next week you are playing in a high school gym in Burley, Idaho. surreal

Thanks, Rocky5000. It also looks like they have an archive of the games as well.
