After the Golden State play, Paul Pierce said that Rondo should be an All- Star.

Rondo played great in the 2nd half and IMO was the reason we came back and own. Donny Marshall is also right when he says, as Rondo goes, so go the Celtics.

I'm glad that after a very slow start, Rajon has come on strong in the last 5 games. Over the last 5 games, Rondo is averaging 16.6 points, 6.2 assists, 5.2 rebs, and 2.4 steals. During this time, Rajon is also shooting 56% from the field and 75% from the line.

I don't agree with Pierce that Rondo should be an All-Star just yet because so the slow start. But I'm very happy with the way Rondo has turned things around over the last 2 weeks. And how knows, if he can keeps playing like he has over the last 5, we just may become as All-Star.

Rondo is my favorite Celtic. Unfortunately this is going to seem like I'm raining on his parade. But Rondo's recent good performances have come against really bad defensive PG's, culminated by last nights performance against a team that doesn't seemingly even have a PG or a defensive game plan. Hopefully All Star appearances are based on a large volume of work, the first part of this season was full of many of us being disappointed by Rondo's work on the court. All Star talk is premature IMO.

But a real nice vote of confidence from the Captain all-in-all.

Rondo covers a lot of ground both statistically and intangibly, but he does have some competition at the PG position.

Pierce talks out of his ass sometimes. There's no way Rondo deserves to make the all star team.

he is going to have some stiff competition at the guard spot. Assuming Iverson and Wade are the two starters he would then have to beat out guys like Joe Johnson,Rip Hamiliton,Calderon, and our own Ray Allen. Then you have to consider guys on bad teams might get some consideration like Vince Carter and Ben Gordon. These are just players off the top of my head.

meh, Pierce isn't an analyst, he's a teammate of Rondo's. he should say that. and frankly, if rondo plays like the last few games the whole rest of the season? he should be an allstar!

When I hear pierce say that, and after watching Rondo's play in the last 5 games, especially the last one, I think: Yeah! Rondo should be an allstar! and then I look at his numbers, of just the last 5 games alone and think... those aren't allstar numbers. But Rondo should take the complement, because he's been playing great.

If I said it before I will say it a thousand times--- Rondo is a big time facilitator. Having him play off the ball plays to his weaknesses, kills offensive continuity and the entire team suffers. Of the remaining major minute loggers, Pierce and Garnett are the best playmakers. Taking the ball out of Rondo's hands makes the team worse. The implication should be abundantly clear.

If Ray continues to show improved spacing and off-the-ball court awareness, wonderful. If, when an inevitable slump comes, Ray reverts to the poor spacing and dilly-dallying with the ball we saw at the beginning of the season, I will echo my previous statements.

Oh, regardless of who is actually voted to the all-star team, Rondo has been playing at an All-Star caliber level since he has been in the league*. Last year, he was on the verge of attaining Superstar level.

*As mentioned by overall impact.

Rondo just needs to stay aggressive and keep driving to the hoop and pushing up the ball. There's only a few PGs in the game who can guard Rondo one on one when he's driving.

He's slowly morphing into a Tony Parker PG.

I agree with those wholeheartedly. It's essential for the the Celtics that Rondo is allowed to be the primary ball handler and playmaker when he's on the court. When you have a PG with limited shooting ability but great instincts with the ball in his hands it's foolish to have him set up off the ball and wait for lesser playmakers to get him the ball.

This is also the reason why it's essential that Perkins gets touches in the post. It ruins teams defensive gameplans if Rondo and Perkins become factors offensively.

Rondo will undoubtedly be an all star at some point in his career, I doubt it will be this year though due to the presence of KG and Paul (automatic all stars) and Ray Allen (fringe all star). In terms of impact I think Rondo should make it but I don't think great defensive players get as much credit as they deserve when it comes to all star games.

And other all-star worthy guards says Rondo should learn how to shoot free throws.

I totally agree with the motto: Celts go as Rondo goes.
He is a very special talent but the most amazing thing is that as good as he nowadays is, he still has plenty of room for improvement.
Just imagine RR with a jumpshot. This would force honest D on him and more space to operate.
Sky is the limit for him!

Maybe in a few years, right now Rondo is a great fit in a great team that knows his role and does it well. He isn't quite good enough yet to be an all-star.

All Star games are a joke. Who gives a rat's ass if he is on there. It is a popularity contest, and that is all.

Yeah, I hate the ALL-STAR garbage....remember Toine was a "Veteran All Star"...riiiggghhttt....cause someone got hurt, and he replaced him on the roster.

The example of Walker shows that sometimes thinking they're an allstar can make them complacent. Hopefully Rondo doesn't let any of this type of exposure get into his head. I have hope that Doc Rivers will be helpful in that regard.

Who cares if Rondo makes it to the All-Star game or not. I'm just glad that he is now playing good enough to be considered an all-star, even if it's from his teammate.

Rondo has done a complere 180 turn around in the last 5 games. He didn't look that great in the first 11 games but he looks like a different player now. I hope he can keep it up.

Jose Calderon beats the wheels off of Rajon Rondo in fantasy basketball

I would not trade Rajon Rondo for Jose Calderon in real life

Stats are fun, but what should an all-star appearance REALLY be based on?

I don't like this topic. Rondo is great, but he doesn't have the stats for an all-star and I wouldn't like to see him trying to get these.

I don`t think he deserves it. He isn`t consistent enough. But if he plays like he played in the last 5 games for the whole season then he has a chance.
