Rondo needs to develop his left hand

Post#1 » by elrod enchilada » Sat Nov 29, 2008 2:40 pm

He is the opposite of Delonte. He uses his right hand exclusively for lay-ups. If he developed his left-hand he could get shots off more easily and draw fouls with his body. Given his talent for blowing by people to the hoop. I think this could provide almost as big a pay-off as developing a consistent outside shot. And it might be easier for him.

He can finish with his left hand. It's more of a footwork issue. He gets by people quickly and has a tendency to try to up quick with his right hand off of his right foot. I don't think it's a problem though because he uses the left when he absolutely needs to but just seems to more naturally use the right handed layup from the left side.

Completely agree, Elrod. I've been thinking that from his first year. When he goes left, he should shoot with his left hand. It'd make his shot near impossible to defend with his body between the ball and the defender.

Hope he develops it.
