Alright Ive been following the standings a lot recently and have only seen one LA Loss. Now Im saying if LA and us make the playoffs again does the team with homecourt win? I know they cant beat us if we have homecourt but can we beat them if LA has homecourt?

The Celtics won on the Lakers homecourt last year... why wouldn't they be able to do it again? Frankly I don't even think their crowd delivers a great homecourt advantage, especially not when you compare them to say Atlanta, whose crowd was extremely pumped up.

I think people need to stop thinking so far ahead, the biggest test will come from the Cavs (who could possibly get an impact player at the deadline by dealing Wally's contract). Lebron is the best player, they play great defense in the playoffs, and they have no real holes to exploit in there overall floor game. If your going to worry about someone, worry about them.

Not necessary but would be nice to have, and I bet you any of the players would say the same things...

^^You mean the days when we sucked and didn't have to bother worrying about who we might play as the top team in the west for a title?

We don't need home court against LA because we'll beat them in less than 7 games.

Ya we won our 1 game against them but that was without Pau. With Pau and in the finals we won 1 of 3. Cle is a big test but I think our toughest east matchup is against Orlando, hopefully we play them well tonight!

Ya the last time LA wasnt discussed on this board was when we were awful, talking about LA is a good thing in my mind even though I hate them!

Rondo is the biggest factor. If he's aggressive on the road like he is capable of being, they can beat anyone. If he plays the way he did in the road games of last year's Championship, I don't see them winning a series vs. the Lakers. I don't think it is necessary, but I would also say we should be focusing on Cleveland rather than the Lakers.

True, real champions win on the road. If you can't win 2 on the road, you don't deserve to be a champion. We beat them on their own turf before, we will do it again.

Exactly. What the hell is that genius talking about? Who cares how many you win on the road? Champion is a champion. That's why you try to get the top seed during the regular season, so you don't have to win as many on the road to become a champion.

No kidding...whether you win all 4 at home or 2 and 2, winning 4 wins the series, PERIOD.

4-2 if we have home court, it's a tossup if we don't.

I view the NBA Finals as favoring the road team. All the Lakers would've had to do to gain home court advantage was to steal a game in Boston either game one or two. As it turned out, Boston proved that they not only can win a game in Los Angeles. But, they could push the Lakers to almost winning more than that one.

Keep in mind, Pierce enjoys playing on the Lakers' court and he and a few other teammates are from CA. It's a homecoming for them so they're extra motivated to perform well in front of family and friends.

I'd prefer to have homecourt for more subtle reasons. It sends a message to the refs and the league that your team is the best. This is critical in tight games because I honestly feel that does translate to more calls and a better chance at winning.

We are only one game behind the Lakers. We can catch them - and we should absolutely try to.

I agree with this and said it during the Finals last year, the 2-3-2 format in the Finals is utter ****. There is NO REASON why the team with homecourt, if both teams win out on their home floor, should be playing game 6 DOWN a game. The homecourt team should ALWAYS have games 1,5, and 7 at home...PERIOD.
