I've been a fan for many years now, and I know a lot of members here are the same way. I'm actually looking forward to the bad years after Garnett and Pierce retire. I definitely consider myself loyal.

I own a Kedrick Brown jersey, need I say more?

I'm only 20, but I started watching around 99/2000. I agree with Celtsfan1980, even though the bad years were tough, they were so exciting because of all the potential and the opportunity to see the "kids" play and improve. Now is great, because this is the first great Celtics team that I've been a live for, but there definitely is something about the team from the bast 8 or 10 years that had some sort of charm to it.

99-01 is when I first started gettin into the C's. I don't really know why, I mean who sees a team with Kenny Anderson playing a vital role and thinks "yeah, I can get into that.."

I started watching in the 1978-79 season but I didn't really understand much until the following season. My grandmother, a three-time All-State selection (when the female game had six players on the court at once), taught me the game. She loved Tiny Archibald and Dave Cowens.

I was. Been a fan since my birth in '80. Earliest memories of watching the Larry Bird C's in the 1985 playoffs, although my mom says my dad (a fan since the Cousy/Russell days himself) would sit me down with him to watch games as soon as I was born. I was a fan through all the dark days (went to a LOT of games during the Pitino/O'Brien/Carroll "eras") and am enjoying this renaissance immensely!

Drafting Chauncey Billups and Ron Mercer rather than Tim Duncan was a brutal start to my full fledged Celtics fanhood.

Before KG, before Pierce, before Antoine, before Reggie... Started getting into the Celts when my dad took me to my first game in the Garden - January of 1980... Just in time for the Bird era, 5 title appearances in 8 years and 3 titles. Never looked back.

Haha I feel ya. I got a Jiri Welsch jersey. I've since torn the name off and sewed on "S C A L". Where it whenever I go to a game, or St. Pattys day.

To be honest I think pretty much everyone on this board has been, most of the people who came on right after the trade have not posted in awhile.

I personally have been a die hard since 1996 and have pretty much not missed a game since then

Honestly you're not going to find people posting in this thread that were fans after the KG trade. Bandwagoners will not post in a thread like this. This results/findings of this thread will be flawed.

since early 80's.

i think this is the wrong question to ask on a message board. we are all lifers here, otherwise we wouldn't post on a board. the real "bandwagon" question is how many fans at the arena were fans before last season?

to answer that, all you need to know is that the C's sold out most of their games in the 24-win season before KG arrived. so the answer is, there are a LOT of true C's fans around Boston. it's not a fairweather fan city.

Im with you Im 23 so this was my first championship. Before this the best celtics team I watched play was the 01/02 team that went to the ECF. To tell you the truth before the KG trade I never thought Id see the Celtics win a title especially after missing out on Oden and Durant.

I started watching the year OB took us to the EC final. I hated that team b/c of the 3pt shooting.
I became a beleiver when DA started making his moves, actually it was more when tony and delonte started playing.

Man I feel bad for people in here that didn't start watching until late 90's. I'm so glad I got to watch several years of Bird and the rest of the cast of characters. I wasn't able to see his early years but still saw several

Celtics fan since... approx. ... Antoine Walker was drafted :o

I think the overall share of postings on this board from people who are Celtics fans since KG is pretty low.
