Jay Triano replaced him.
Is he any good?

Interesting, Triano was a pretty good player on the Canadian national team, and was the Head Coach of the team when they placed 7'th in the Sydney Olympics. He's been assistant coach in Toronto for a few years. So it's a real interesting twist, certainly great for marketing.

I assumed Triano was only hired because he was Canadian. However, as it turns out, he was actually an assistant for Team USA this past summer. He knows the international game quite well, but we'll see how well that knowledge translates in the NBA.

However, I do look forward to seeing who the Raps board shall blame before finally realizing that their team just isn't that good. IMHO, Colangelo definitely deserves some of the blame as well. Looking at that roster he's put together leads me to believe that his dad had more to do with the Suns' success than he did.

the biggest mistake so far is handing the team to calderon, who is just another dan dickau with some defense.

They had to do something. But they still have a terrible team. I mean their wing rotation and bench are just pathetic...Can˙t do much with those players...

haha. That's a funny thread. See - that's a case in point why loser teams have better boards.

Weird; this board wasn't too entertaining a few years ago before McFail gave you guys KG.

Good move for the Raps. Triano is going to be fun to watch because he knows his stuff. He's been coaching in the Olympics for quite some time.

lol McFail...but honestly that not true. this board was more alive when the c's sucked. that 2006-2007 was classic. some people even watched all the games from start to end, even when paul was injured. why they did that to themselves i don't get.

whoever said calderon had defense.......please i wish he did. its sad. :( he can't stop anyone.

too bad smitch was fired. it aint his fault no one can defend or that JO is hurt at the moment.

This sucks. Mitchell was one of the reasons they underachieved. I'm afraid the Raptors might actually hire a coach who knows what he is doing.

Won't be this season. Watch for the summer, though. Ettore Mussina may be finally making his NBA coaching debut.

Nah. Mitchell wasnt' the problem. It was the fact that the Raptors are an all-star FIBA team instead of a NBA team.
