Lakers watching the C's closley

An interesting article on the Lakers watching the Celtics from afar. There is a lot of talk about Christmas day being a revenge game, but it's still not going to change the fact that the Lakers got hammered by Boston in the finals.

Revenge would be if the Celtics and the Lakers meet in the finals next year and the Lakers win. There is really not much revenge if the Lakers beat the Celtics in the regular season.

The Lakers can win every Christmas day game for the next 10 years as far as I care, as long as Boston wins in the Finals.

Haha, sounds like they're getting a little bit of an unhealthy obsession.

I doubt that's even the case, the OP is over hyping a very small article. All the Lakers were really doing was checking out the game you guys had with the Pacers Sunday, nothing more nothing less it's really a non issue frankly.

Sure they were buddy. We all know you guys are totally obsessed with everything happening with the Champs! Just j/k man, you're actually one of the few cool Laker posters out there and I agree it doesn't seem like that big of a deal.
Now that being said I would argue that the Christmas day "showdown" means a hell of alot more to your team and your fans than it does to us. Granted I don't think we'll view this as just another game, but after that epic whopping in game 6 I'd venture to say a win would make you guys feel some level of retribution, while there really isn't any retribution to be had on our part.

Well, obviously the Lakers are watching the Celtics. We just beat them in the finals and once again, it looks like it's setting up to be the Lakers-Celtics finals again, unless LBJ takes us out.

who read to the bottom of that article and saw the andrew bogut quote, OMG. what a stubborn man he is. he thinks the lakers are the best team in the nba.

Really who cares who people think the best team in the NBA is? Last yr before the finals everybody and their mother picked the Lakers to win and we all know how that turned out.
Personally, I prefer going under the radar while the press anoints someone else as the lead dog. I think the C's thrive on that for motivation as well (see 20-2 start). If we end up in the finals playing the Lakers I hope everybody picks them to win again. Makes it all that much sweeter.

I'm always chiming in on a topic or two here, ask some of your fellow posters here that know of me. I don't come here to mix it up or nothing like that. I know most of you would think I only come here on "Laker" topics but that's not the case. I can talk more then just Lakers-Celtics, If it's an interesting topic or worthy of a quote I'll drop a line here and there.
It's all good though.

Sure, whatever you say.
Your out your mind if you and your other Celtic buddies dont think the Christmas game is JUST ANOTHER GAME.............

Your more hyped up about it than you think or actually you want us to think.

Right, thats why Doc Rivers on an interview last week said that :
"The Celtics need to be a lot better this season than last year cause teams like Cav, Orlando, and his exact words........... SPECAILLY THE LAKERS have had a lot of positive changes and HAVE GOTTEN A MUCH STRONGER this year than last year"
But okay whatever you say AGAIN........

There are just as many posts on the Lakers board about the Celtics as there are on this board about the Lakers. I enjoy having the rivalry back.
Although we always savor beating the Lakers more than any other team in the NBA, let's face reality, it's a bigger statement game for the Lakers than it is for us. We beat the Lakers 6 out of the 8 times last year, and the last time we faced them, we won the championship by a record point spread in a deciding game of an NBA finals, if I remember correctly... We ARE the king of the hill. The Lakers need validation that they can actually beat the Celtics, not the other way around.
We may have a cry baby, a trash talker, and a gang sign thrower on our team (See I do read the Lakers board), but we're bringing it on Christmas Day! Are the Lakers strong enough this time around? We'll see...
Let's hope both teams have a good game and we all get to enjoy Christmas with our families.

I bet you'd be pissed on Christmas though, don't know why you guys act like you wouldn't care if you lost that game. Everyone knows it just a regular season game but don't you get pissed when you lose too any team in a regular season game? Especially if you lose too a rival team on national t.v on Christmas. I'm not saying the Lakers are gonna win cause it could go either way but you guys are downplaying this game so bad, like as if your expecting the Celtics too lose

True you guys are the king of the hill........ For now.
Yet you cant sit here and act like the Christmas game means nothing to both teams or the fans.
It means a lot, since A. Its a riavalry that goes back for decades and B. Its a statment game just incase we meet in the finals.

Naaaa I totally disagree with you on this, even if your so called Laker trolls post B.S or nonsense on our board, our Mods will lock it down and deal with it.
Im a regular poster on our board as well as other boards and I can seriously say that our Mods dont deal with any garbage on our boards....... so you must be making a mistake.
