Do you Boston fans have ghreater appreciation for this guy this season?

Seems to me there was alot of wrangling about him last year, especially in the Cleveland series.

Share some thoughts, Boston Fan.

I wish Presti had of Kept him. :(

Ray always had a great stroke, but now he can get open looks and show just how nice it is!

AMAZING.

Imo, he was the one who was mostly uncomfortable with the big 3 situation last year. he just picked up against detroit and in the finals against the lakers. he realized that he can still be a go to guy at times even if he has kg and paul with him. nice that doc is setting plays for him more this season. He looks more comfortable and on a rythm.

Yeah, I was amaze at his %'s. He seems more comfortable and on a rhythm like rambo_ortega said.

Not trying to hijack the thread or anything but when I was looking at Allen's stats. I saw John Salmons stats (%s):

19/4/3/1

50% FG
43% 3s
80% FT

He's really emerging as a really GOOD quality player. (Even though, he has shown this level last year).

Seconded.
I started a thread a few weeks ago about Mr Salmons. He is quite decent!

Ray's effectiveness, IMO, isn't measured statistically at all times. I think right now, the stats look nice, but I feel he's always a very effective player on the floor when looking at the whole scope.

Last year, I never felt we could consistently count on ray(unless if we had 2 days off prior to a game)... now there's a huge turnaround.

BadMuthaCeltic is right, it goes beyond the stats. Offensively Ray Allen is like water right now. He's fitting in here and there and everywhere and then when he does fit in he instantly kills.

He has to have one of the most likable offensive games out there when he's playing for you. It may have to do with his demenour on the court, but you instantly fall in love with what he does. Those leaners and insanity.

Of course now I'm concerned with Pierce, he doesn't seem to be hitting shots I'm used to seeign. But this is so nice right now. Fantasy players look at Garnett's stats and say he's dissapointing them early on with low ppg and aspg but honestly aside from Pierce I think Garnett and Ray are playing amazing better then last year.

This has been 10 games or so now of Ray Allen sending virtous judgement upoun other teams. This amount of continued success gives me hope that it will carry over into the playoffs. Honestly there is nothing prettier then winning offensively off of Ray Allen leaners and 3s.

Salmons is doing well, I wonder how Garcia will mix in. I think Garcia is more of the 3 point shooter then salmons but that really isn't saying much on how garcia will get back into the offense.

Ray has been the MAN this season so far! He is carrying this team offensively and when Pierce and KG bust out, we are going to be unstoppable!

A resurgent Ray Allen and the improvements in Rondo-Perkins is what has elevated this team to a new level this season. In order for the Celtics to repeat Ray will have to continue to shoot well and Rondo will have to play with a level of consistent, confident, aggression. The Rondo-Ray backcourt combo... especially in the transition game, has been huge for the Celtics thus far.

But on Ray Allen I've been super impressed with his ability to get out on the break, find an open spot and get his feet set quick for the jumper. Never mind his ridiculously quick smooth release. I'd have to say that Ray is a top 5 devastating scorer (and he is a SCORER not just a shooter) when he's got his thing going. Ray proved in the All Star game that he can impact a game on the offensive end at the level of a Lebron James or Kobe Bryant... even moreso at times because 3pts is better than 2pts.

The Celtics are definitely intent on repeating as Champs and Ray's hot shooting will be an indispensable piece to the puzzle.
