i actually don't mind him here and he has been nothing but a true professional in memphis. he was a nice piece for the heat when they won their championship and he was even the 2nd leading scorer in the finals that year. it would be a nice gift to him after all the things he has done for the franchise. he still can score and might be able to adjust to the team defense of the celtics.

I would much rather bring back PJ Brown.

^Agreed. I'd rather have PJ or Mutombo. We don't really need Antoine. I'd only take him if we dumped Scal. Otherwise, I wouldn't cut anyone else on the roster for him.

Ainge is not that stupid. The Celtics don't need a fat PF chucking up 3 pointers at a 25% success rate. This Celtics are about defense, has everyone forgotten how Kenyon Martin abused Antoine the last time he was here?

No thank you.

yeah, he's now free to eat as much harold's fried chicken as he damn well pleases.

and to stay the hell away from the celtics.

We could use a backup for Pierce, but unfortunately reaching outside requires us to release or trade someone. I'm pretty doubtful that Walker is good enough to be in the rotation at this point, he sure isn't in game shape (having not played a minute this year).

I'd be ok bringing him in on a tryout, and find out what skills he has left. But he has a ring, I don't feel at this point any sense of loyalty to him to get one here. If he could back up Pierce satisfactorily, he'd be welcome back. I just doubt he has it left in him.

I say let some other, more needy team sign him for the remainder of the year.

Then next year, after he announces his early retirement, let's have a nice big AW Appreciation Day celebration at the halftime of one of our home games.

Last time he was here he played great. I don't know of too many players who could join a sub 0.500 team that is imploding like he did and score 33/13 on the road against the elite team in the NBA at the time.

Sure, he misses bunnies, takes too many shots and has his limitations. In the end, he can't cut it as a star. But he and Pierce do have a certain chemistry that could be a solid way to keep team productive offensively while KG and Allen rest. When healthy and in shape he could be a great addition to this veteran team. I just don't know if he has anything left.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Man I would love bring Antoine in off the bench...that would add a solid vet to the bench crew and another leader like KG to get in the ears (and faces) of guys who don't have their heads in it (*cough* Big Baby *cough*)
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Problem is he thinks he is a star. I can't believe people would even consider Antoine Walker. Time to say goodbye forever to everyone's favorite binky.

The vocal leader's role is already occupied by Garnett. And I don't see what Walker offers this team that you don't ready get from Powe and Davis. I would even say that I prefer to have Scalabrine if the choice were he or Walker. No offense to Walker, I liked him when he was a Celtic the first time around. But, I just can't see him back on this team, again. I mean he looked fine as a spectator in the stands at home games during last season's playoffs run.

On the other hand, I like the idea of kicking the tires on Mutombo and seeing whether or not he'll be open to playing in the northeast. If so, it would've to be Cassell that's the odd man out unless a trade is worked prior to that opens up a free roster spot for Dikembe.

My guess is a team like the Clippers could've an interest in Walker with them hurting for depth. Or even Denver who lost out on McDyess and released Juwan Howard.

I'd love to have Toine back on the C's. He would finally know his role after being with 2 awful teams that didn't want to play him.

He knows he isn't a star after being with Minny and Memphis and getting limited minutes. He could be the answer to our backup small forward problems.

He was awesome the last time he came back, but that was a long time ago, I don't know if he can bring it anymore. The sad truth is that Scal may be a better player than Antoine is today. Still, I'd think I'd let him join if we cut Scal for him, out of hope that he could return to 05 form and bring some intangibles.

Exactly. You don't think he's been humbled? Anyone who thinks he'll come back here and demand to be #1 is either nuts, stupid, or both...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
