Could Boston defeat the starting five of western All-Stars?

Or does it depend on who the starting five are for the western All-Stars.
I was just thinking if Rivers started all five of the Boston Celtics players for the eastern All-Stars. How would they fair?
They would be the better collection of talent but Boston would've the chemistry advantage.

If you just threw them together for one game? Yeah.
If they were an actual team that had been playing and practicing together all year? Probably not.

If you just threw the western conference all stars together for that one game i'd say the celtics could hang but I don't know about win.

FWIW, I think they would dominate the 1988 Western All-Stars. Those guys wouldn't be able to keep up. One of the rare times that I think youth would beat out experience.

Perhaps, you all didn't understand the question or are being... If Boston's starting five were starting against the five players that are selected as the starting five for the western conference. Who would win? This question came to mind because the choices for eastern conference centers are pretty weak. Which gives Perkins as much of an opportunity to be named an All-Star as Rondo. If Pierce can become more assertive offensively from now and on. Plus, Rivers as the head coach representing the team with the conference's best record. That's a sweep... So, again, I thought: Could they win against whoever gets the most votes to start among the western conference. I believe they could... That is, you could've two power forwards as the starters in the west. Imagine one of them trying to guard Pierce.
Who would be the reserves isn't important since the original question is focusing on the starters. But, if the western conference reserves are name players. Then I reckon the same needs to apply for the eastern conference reserves.
I just thought it was a good question since it could be tough to list other starters that could go toe-to-toe with the best starting five of the All-Star game and not flinch.

If it's just starters vs. starters, then yeah, I think Boston would easily hang with them, if not win. You could argue that 4/5 of our starters are all-stars, plus we'd have the advantage of having chemistry together on offense, and having a strong team defense.

I suppose if Memphis waives Antoine Walker, then the WC All-Star team can't have him and thus the Celtics would therefore stand a chance against them.

I"m not sure how this fits in here, but conceivably all five of our starters could have arguments made for them to be all stars. As for would we beat the starting five west all stars, theres a lot of ways to break that down. I do believe that for a point of time longer than several minutes in a game our starters could outscore the western conference best 5 easily. Get benches involved and its a much different question

Not including fatigue, I think the Celtics could hang with them, as chemistry and coaching is a big part of basketball. It would get ugly if they all played the full 48 minutes though >_>

What I would do is allow only first time All-Stars for the reserves for both sides. That is, your bench is made up of fresh faces. For example, the eastern conference could've their choices of Granger, D. Harris or Horford off the bench.

I think the team defense of the Celtics would make it an easy win. You don't need (or want) guys going for 25pts/game from every position. You need guys who force their man into 25% shooting.

I don't think the Celtics can beat a team that starts Paul, Kobe, Yao, Duncan and Amare. But it's nice to be optimistic about our team.

If the All-stars play defense like they do in All Star games the Celtics could, but if All-stars took the game seriously and had practice time, All Stars would defeat the Celtics

Well at the moment the starting Western conference all-stars would be:
PG - Chris Paul
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - Tracey McGrady
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Yao Ming
That's a pretty formidable starting lineup.
The Celts are good and could probably hang but I don't know if they'd win. Besides, Perk would be in foul trouble quick.
