Pruitt - Good Game

Pruitt got his chance last night and did well. In a key part of the game he ran the point and increased the lead. His defense on Williams was very good. He made two out of three 3-pointers.

I have to hand it to Doc. He put him out there when the game was on the line and let him sink or swim. Pruitt swam with the big fishes and did well.

I like the kid's game. He complements Rondo and House well.

VERY impressive game by the young fella. Damn, that three in the fourth quarter was huge! Maybe practicing with such awesome teammates has rubbed off on him--that shot was fearless!

He also looked like he took care of the basketball well (0 turnovers), unlike the rest of the team....

I really like Gabe. His shot is a thing of beauty. He just needs some more playing time to feel even more comfortable leading the team.

After the game Doc remarked that Gabe played great, stating that it was his defense that really was impressive. "We know he can shoot," Doc said.

He had that great strip of Deron Williams when the Utah guard drove the lane.

Oh yeah, that was great. Gabe seems to have been working hard, and it sure payed off last night against the Jazz. Eddie's spot was in good hands.

I like Gabe Pruitt alot. Gabe has only played under 200 minutes in the NBA. It's tough getting minutes on a championship team. All Gabe needs is some experience thats why I wish Doc would give him 8-10 minutes a game with the 2nd unit and sit Pierce & Ray Allen. It could really help in the long run.

I liked that Gabe, Eddie & TA unit in the preseason.

House is a great great shooter, but Gabe showed there are things he can do that House can't. He played solid D and handled pressure very well.

Pruitt can shoot the long ball, not as well as House, but much better than Rondo.
Pruitt can advance the ball and run the offense, not as well as Rondo, but much better than House.

He is a good compliment to both of the other guys who get minuets at the 1. I wish Doc would give him some playing time. I would like to see House and Pruitt on the floor together some.

Impressive game by Gabe, I gave up binkyism so I was starting to really dislike Gabe (if you don't contribute, I won't like the player). Let's just hope he can compete at this level consistently, but if not, no big deal, trade him.

Hopefully he's shown enough to be the emergency backup PG.

Danny signed House to an overpaid 2 year guaranteed contract for a reason, and that was to be the backup PG.

If Pruitt has shown enough hopefully that will make the management confident enough to make Cassell a permenate coach and for us to sign a real Center like Mutomobowomua

More than numbers, all you can really hope for from any 3rd string backup is a positive +/-
He was +2 the other night, =)

He needs to push the ball up the floor...it may be Doc's doing but Gabe eats up more time than Eddie bringing the ball up and the one time he pushed it he just about TO'd it, he saved himself with a pass to the wing. Otherwise, ditto, great shot selection, shooting and especially, D!

One thing I picked up on but didn't have the link was Pruitt's last stint was huge. His + / - was a +6 at a critical point in the game.

http://popcornmachine.net/cgi-bin/gamef ... ame=UTHBOS

It was at the beginning of the fourth and we were up by just 2 or 3. Utah had been making a bit of a run. The fourth period stint gave Rondo a rest. When he came back in fresh we were up by eight or so and Utah had no answers.

Given how mediocre his first stint was I was kind of surprised Doc put him in. I guess he didn't have a lot of choices. I was kind of afraid I was going to see TA at the point.

Yeah Doc could of easiely let Rondo, who was one a mission for the first time I've ever seen him in his career, play those critical minutes. I was extremely suprised to see Pruitt in there.
