I blame Doc/Rondo for this loss.

Post#1 » by Spud34 » Fri Dec 26, 2008 1:13 am

How in the World did Pierce not get a chance to takeover in 4th? Why is he always standing around on offense? Rondo did a terrible job of getting Pierce the ball in the 4th.

And why the hell did Doc take out Pierce while he was hot? There was like 3min left in the 3rd, and you decide to take out Pierce? Then he waited so long long to put him back in. I also blame him for not running more sets for Pierce in the 4th.

It's a team game man, and no team has ever won them all. Doc stuck to his regular rotation, this was a regular season game, let Phil play it like it's the finals again and leave Kobe in for 24 straight minutes. The C's could have played better all around, but ****, it's just one game no matter what the fan fare. They'll be ready to start winning again tomorrow night on the back end of a back-2-back and no one will need oxygen.

Yeah we played fine. We played it as a regular season game. We rested our guys. We can take a loss every 20 games.

Sums it up. I'm angry, but I think a loss every twenty games is all right.

Doc's regular rotation is trash (and was last year as well). There is no reason we can't have 2 of the Big 3 on the court at all times. Hell, former coaches (Van Gundy) announcing our games have said just as much.

These line-ups of House, T. Allen, Pierce/R. Allen, Powe and Baby are a joke.

Agree JR Hawks.. some really questionable rotations by Ur coach... Why take out Ray Allen in the 6 min before end of game.. As Van Gundy said next game is against a nobody team.. could have rested the starters then..

i didn't see the game so I need to watch it but Doc has to play this like any other game. he couldn't afford to kill his starters just to win this game and then have them tired for the rest of the road trip. we have had a very favorable home stretch and now it's going to even ouy. No one thought we were going to go 80 and 2 did you? Better to find out now what needs to be fixed than wait until april when it's too late/ from the boxscore it looks like : 1) too many turnovers 2) lakers played good D 3) we didn't get to the line and 4) our bench was shut out for the most part

While Rondo made some questionable plays here and there I do not blame the loss on him....hell he had 12 assists.

I think our rotations were slow and we turned the ball over too many times with Paul being the main culprit. It seems evertime he gets a rebound he insists on dribbling it up instead of getting it to Rondo. Ray did the same thing on one play (the one where him and Rondo were arguing) and it resulted in Ray turning the ball over after finally attempting to get it to Rondo.

The real concern still remains the second unit. They have got to find someone who can consistently be a scorer...the entire second unit has been questionable lately. Big Baby seems to be struggling with his role, Tony still makes questionable decisions and Leon has seemed to disappear lately. Eddie still remains the best option from the outside but he takes some ill advised shots sometimes.

Rondo had 2 fouls in the first 3 minutes...then,a bogus 3rd foul and BOGUS 4th foul.....which hindered his aggressiveness....He played in slow motion most of this game---Which is the major difference in Boston being a dominate team and just another good team.

It wasnt Pierce that need the ball, it was KG... it was easy, rediculously easy for him to score and even with 22 points he was touching the ball not near enough

The biggest mess up of the game however, was in the third when Ray was on with the bench. Not only did he not even touch the ball on something like 5/7 posessions but he wasnt guarding Kobe.. whats the point of leaving ray or paul on with the bench if they arent going to do anything. Run the offense through these guys and let them shoot/create as they see it, not Have Tony try and score a career high in 2 minutes

Mess of a game, we played like crap and they wanted it more... bring on Deke, and some sort of back up 3

I thought Rondo played much better than he did on the road games in the Championship and they probably would have won in 5 if he had played that well. It's a good sign to me. The Lakers had way too many wide open shots in the first half, the Celtics had way too many dumb turnovers, and Ray Allen missed a wide open 3 with the score tied late in the game. I think the Celtics probably would have won the game if he had made that shot, so I'm pleased that they were still in it considering they didn't play close to their potential.

i don't think we played well, we never got into rhythm offensively or defensively...we never established "our game"

One thing to remember. Just over tens years ago Utah beat Chicago in both of their matchups. Then the Lakers CRUSHED Utah in the finals. Just the regular season. Learn from your mistakes, make adjustments. Do better when you meet them next.

WTF is this thread?

Breaking news: The other team wants to win too.

I don't blame anyone. Doc was fine this game. Celtics made too many turnovers, didn't get to the foul line, had little bench production, and late in the game the defense broke down.
e
In essence, the Celtics got beat fair and square. Lakers are a good team last I checked.

Sure, everyone can play better. But, the Celtics have played worse and won.

Time to reel of 8 of 10. That would help.
