Free POB!

Post#1 » by MoBSTa » Sat Dec 27, 2008 6:22 am

Free POB! If this game against the Warriors would have meant anything to any Player on the Celtic's Roster it would have meant everything to POB.

Perkin's out and POB never got to even step on the Warriors court.

I got to say, if I was indeed a coach and needed a little boost to my team I may look to a player that has something more to play for.

But all in all, I don't feel BBD has proved anything this season, other than that he can hit a 12ft jump shot in which I believe POB can do also.

POB was indeed a Lotto Pick and with KG I think he could develop but I also believe every player deserves a little something from the table, and if POB ever deserved to be on the Celtic's Roster he deserved a few mins to play against the Warriors.

With Perkins hurt and the Celtic's in a bind POB never seen 1 sec.

Can someone explain why we have POB if were not going to use him?

O'bryant might not look great in garbage time, but he'd probably look fine with the other four starters to mask some of his weaknesses.

I am starting to feel uncomfortable with Doc. He is not even using any common sense.

With Powe and Big Baby being undersized and with Perk injured. Obviously the C's don't have a true C. With the loss tonight against the Warriors with POB not being used it means the Celtics sign him for nothing.

I think it's just sad, that POB never even got to play against the Warriors, I think he has done well when inserted in during Garbage time and I also feel he deserved mins in this game.

I also would like to know why POB never got any mins against the Warriors because I was looking forward to it.

He looked great in the first few pre-season games when he started with the first unit(Perk was out then)---Doc starting a 6-8 Powe at center made no sense tonight.

I guess as someone who sees POB play at practice every day you must be in the know. Thats just common sense right? C'mon! He must be not showing anything or showing something negative because he is always the last one in. And only in when the game is beyond clearly out of reach. Would not surprise me if he is not with the team by the season's end.

Same thing happening in this thread that happened on the W's board the past two years. The team has a bad game and people start assuming that the long, athletic POB sitting on that bench is a cure all.

They seem to forget why how he got to the end of that bench in the first place, namely because he has proven to the coaching staff that he is a basketball moron and is softer than a gina.

To assume tat the coach is just some sort of dummy that ignores this "amazing, game changing talent" out of mere stupidity is a bit daft, isn't it?

Get Mutombo and cut POB since we aren't going to play him.

I agree, free POB -- TO THE D-LEAGUE!

Guy stinks, let's get over it.

We need another scorer off the bench and some length. POB is not the answer.

POB, may not be the answer, but I believe he was a lotto pick and not for nothing, coaches have jobs, and BBD acts like a natural Blonde, all I am saying is if Clifford can teach BBD he can teach POB.

If your gonna cut someone cut the Cry Baby Gina.

But if POB is useless then cut the POB.

POB must feel like crap! first GS now Bos. Wow! I guess it wasnt Don Nelson who just wouldnt play him. POB has to suck so bad that both his coaches rather play 6-7 PF at center over a legit 7"! Wow! He is sign for 2 yrs right? What happens if we cut him now to open a spot? Or do u package him with Walker and Scal to Thunder for Joe Smith and a future 2nd round pick? I am completely lost why DA sign him? i would rather had gave BirdMAn ( Chris Anderson) the money he wanted.

This isn't exactly the first time that Doc has refused to go with youth, he let Ryan Gomes rot on the bench until about February because he was a rookie. I know POB isn't a rookie, but he is new to the team and the system. For all of Doc's strengths, he doesn't change his rotation very easily. I think with the way the bench is performing now, Doc should really try to mix it up a little bit.

Why not exchange Baby for POB and TA for Walker/Giddens, whichever is more ready, and see what happens for one game. It's not like we're fighting for an 8 seed.

I'll take a guess here and say that POB ain't in the games because he hasn't proven he can defend anybody yet. He can score, we've all seen it, but he looks lost out there and is built like a 7' Q-tip. Glen Davis and Scal both rotate well defensively, that is what this team is built on, team defense.

Finally, an outside perspective on the C's I agree with.

I know they are fighting for home court, but I just think that now is the time to try some different bench combinations rather than April when we need to be ready for the playoffs. I'm not talking about eliminating TA's minutes all together, but take away like 5 of them and just see what a Walker or Giddens can do. It would also only be for a couple games. Baby hasn't played well at all and in my opinion the only reason he hasn't been totally replaced is because he plays decent defense and he was here last year.

Just for one game I want to see what a bench lineup of House, Pruitt, Walker, Powe, POB can do on the floor. Obviously not all at once and Tony Allen will still get some minutes, but just see what you have with those guys before you go out to find more players.
