Mourning time

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Sun Dec 28, 2008 10:29 am

I think its time to bring in Alonzo Mourning. He would add some much needed toughness to the team. Baby and Powe are just too small to play Center and O'Bryant is too clueless and soft to warrant any major minutes.

I would love to have Alonzo here but if he comes back it will be with the heat, IMO. Don`t really see a realistic chance we can get him.

I don't know why he'd want to return if he's just going to a team that probably will get knocked out in the 1st round. Why not latch on for a chance at a title? Plus they'd probably want him to play too many minutes in Miami. They don't have many reliable centers.

He has already won a title and that is why I don`t see him going to a contender...

You think he's just coming back for the money? Maybe, that seems to be what Mutumbo wants.

There is absolutely no chance of Mourning playing anywhere other than Miami.

This is an interview from Dec 19 where he talks several times about rejoining Miami.

I wish we could get Alonzo. Even now (if healthy) I consider him one of the best players in the game.

Why is it so hard for people to give POB a chance?
Give him 10-12 mins for 5 games and lets just see what he does...

Because it's hard to watch him play. He is like a talented Scalabrine.. he can do things but you know he's just going to fail on so many basic levels.

I don't care how. We need to get 2 of either:

PJ, Zo, Deke or Joe Smith

We can get rid of Baby, POB, and Scal.

Play Bill Walker more in the 2nd half. 10-12min.

RR
RA
PP
KG
KP

Bench:
Powe
PJ/Zo/Mt.M/Joe Smith
TA
Eddie

I agree, but we might as well keep O'Bryant as a deep bench/injured reserve guy. Zo and PJ seem like the most likely to sign with us. They know each other well having played 4 years together. I think Bill Walker is going to be real good. He reminds me a little of Paul Pierce body wise.

New Roster

Perkins/Mourning/O'Bryant
KG/PJ/Powe
Pierce/B.Walker
R.Allen/T.Allen
Rondo/House/Cassell

D-league: Giddens, Pruitt

Why? He's much better then Baby. Despite not being in his prime anymore the guy is still a presence in the paint. He alters peoples shots unlike Baby who can't seem to get off the ground.

Finally Mourning has been brought up in an article. It is a short mention, but at least its being talked about. Its good to see that Doc agree's with us about the height issue.

Zo is a dick and a grumpy jerk who quit on teams (NJ, TOR) until he could get back to Miami...

And don't we have enough undersized bigs on the bench?

He's not undersized. Alonzo is 6-10 and the guy is built like the Hulk.

Yeah he's 6'10", but we need a legit 7 footer with SKILLS (unlike POB) which is why, for all of his offensive shortcomings, Mutombo would be better...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
