Well, I have never seen McGuire play so that is something. Supposedly he is a good defender but a terrible offensive player...

And it is always a treat to watch the best player in the NBA, Mike James...

Play Pruitt!!!

Wiz fan here. This is gonna sound crazy but the other night I had a dream about the C's and Marbury was playing the point. He was playing well and making no look passes and it seemed like a perfect fit. I swear I was going to come on your board and make a thread about it and the very next day I hear that he may be coming to you guys.

As for the game tonight, I will tell you guys not to sleep on us. We have a horrible record but we had the lead in the 2nd half of most of those games but we always fade late. Still, you could see that we were a sorry team. Then a few games ago we benched Deshawn for McGuire and thats when we started looking alot better. As of right now I bet that we are more of a .500 team then a 6-24 team. You guys probably saw the game on X-Mas when we had the Cavs on the ropes and were up by 7 with a 1:30 left. I still dont know how we lost. Then the next game we beat the Thunder. Then after that we went to Houston and won without Caron while they had there full team. Then the next night we had NO tied at the half on the road but faded in the 2nd half because it was a back to back and we were without Caron. I think we couldve won if we had him.

I heard someone on here talk about McGuire. His O isnt as bad as you think. His scoring and shooting is but he's a good playmaker. In College he averaged over 10bds per game and was 3rd in the Nation in blks despite being a wing player. He also averaged alot of assist. He's one of those guys that in his prime you could seriously see him putting up crazy numbers like 10,10,6.5, with 3blks and 2 stls per game. On O he's seriously left hand dominant so if you make him go right then he sucks or he'll always try to spin back to his left. Blatche has also been beasting lately when we give him the rock. It should be a fun game. Every team that we play always rips James but I tell them that he's a different guy now. He's been great for us. You can tell that he's clearly more of a 2 then a 1 but the difference is that now he is legetimatly trying to pass 1st. I think we could shock you and make it intersting. Trust me though, this isnt that 4 win team. We will be much more solid from here on out

I've got respect for Mike James. I remember that game winner he hit for us a few years back.

I'd like to see Gabe worked into the rotation a little more. Our big 3 looks a little tired. I'd be fine with cutting down their minutes a little more. I thought our bench looked good in the preseason with Gabe at the 1 and Eddie at the 2. Eddie looked a lot better than he does now.

Nice win.

However, this game clearly illustrates what I've been saying since before training camp.

The two weakest links on this team are:

1. Glen Davis as backup Center
2. Gabe Pruitt as 5th guard on the Active Roster

Agreed completely on #1. I really hope we can make a trade for someone like Joe Smith.

And I think you're understating #2. Even as far up the rotation as Eddie House isn't really cutting it at point guard against good defensive teams. I'm even looking forward to the possibility of Stephon Marbury, and I thought I'd never say that.

I disagree.

Eddie and Tony are great, within their limitations.

The problem lies in that since Tony and Rajon are not true "shooters,"
which is required against the tough playoff defenses,
since they can't always be expected to simply penetrate and score layups;

and there are days when Eddie House and Ray Allen are not both on,

then a 5th guard on the active roster who can handle the ball and shoot is needed.

Pruitt is not that guy.

Sam Cassell, as a bench scorer last year,
won the San Antonio and first Cleveland playoff game
by simply coming in and hitting some shots.

That is what Marbury would provide.

Starbury would play point - and Eddie would be an undersized 2 with TA being an undersized 3. This sounds terrible BUT it would be a very dangerous scoring lineup. Stephon can shoot the three ball if left alone and House is flat out killer when left open. I realize his "numbers"aren't glorious but they don't track OPEN 3s. Eddie is forcing up alot more threes this year as teams are adjuting to playing the Cs.

To offset these undersized guys I firmly believe we need a guy with legit length at the center spot.. Someome mobile to help out on switching D..and a good defender.
