The Missing Pieces to this Team

I'll get to the point. Pretty much everyone knows what this team needs. We are missing 3 things:

1. A back up PG that and shoot and disrtibute the ball. One nights when Rondo is off, we have no one to step in for him.
2. A SF off the bench.
3. A big that's 6'10 or more and can play D, hit an outside shot and rebound.

We had # 2 and #3 last year in Posey and P.J. Brown last year. Cassell filled the #1 on some nights.

Just enjoy the fact that we won it all last year. And except losses vs the Knicks and G.S. and don't get too mad over it. It will happen more often. So let's stop all the trade ideas involving PGA and panicking about loses.

Until atleast 2 of these 3 things are addressed, we will lose more and more to teams that we would have beaten last year. IMO, we will not reach the Finals if these things are addressed.

We all got to hope that Danny can do his thing.

So don't panic, but do panic in the future?

No, don't panic at all. But expect more losses to come and take it for what it is. We won't be a championship caliber team again until we can improve top 9 rotation.

Exactly. Ainge thought that he could replace Posey with improved play out of TA, Baby, and Powe. None off those those have stepped up. Ainge didn't have any conrtol of P.J.'s decision.

Now Ainge must know that TA, Powe and Baby weren't ready to step up. So he has to find other ways to get it done.

We didn't have 1 or 3 at this time last year either. Ainge outbluffed all the posters last year who wanted to grasp at any possible straw along the way, and I think in the end he got the players he wanted. Be patient and let him do his job, he knows a lot more about what he's doing than any of us wannabe GM's think we know.

Dave_From_NB , that is exactly what I'm saying. But most people are fooled that this current team is good enough. We aren't. The 27-2 start fooled a lot of people as it should have. But there are a lot of holes on this team that championship teams don't have.

I trust in Danny Ainge.

How many threads about needing a big, a ball handler and a sf do we need? That horse has been beaten, embalmed, and buried under the sand since the first week of the season, hell, it was taking punches when we didn't re-sign Posey. How many threads a week do we need stating "We aren't a championship caliber team," do we need for that matter? Just put it all in your signature and save yourself carpal tunnel.

Like I said, expect more losses to bad teams. Marbury can't come any sooner.

Until the problems gets fixed. Atleast I don't make excuses after every lose. It's the refs fault, we have had a tough schedule, etc.

Hey return2"expect more losses"glory, are you pining for the days of losing 18 straight or something? I agree we have holes we need to fill and I agree with some of what you're saying, but you're being awfully negative in all of the threads you post in...try to be a glass half-full person...we're STILL 29-7 after playing loads of games and a rugged schedule...in JANUARY!

Chill! 8-)

That's exactly what I mean, excuses. You may think I'm being negative, but I don't give sorry excuses. Loads of road games? Year to date, we have played more homes games than road games.

A rugged schedule? The Warriors, Kings, Knicks, Bobcats, Blazers with out Roy, the Wizzards without Arenas and Haywood, yeah that is a rugged schedule. I state facts that you guys don't see or choice not to see. So that I'm being negatitve? Most people here like you just make excuses. It's the refs, it's a rugged schedule, we play road games, trade this player, etc.

All I'm saying is until the bench gets upgraded, we will be more like the 2-5 team in the last 7 than the 27-2 team in the first 29.

^^If you seriously think we will be a .500 the rest of the season as constituted, I don't know what else to say, honestly...:nonono:

as long as we BEAT LA I'll be happy.

MIO, with the current roster and the way Doc is not playing the right guys off the bench, I say about a 55% winning rate the rest of the way. With 46 games left, I can easily see us going 25-21, ending up with 54 wins.

Now if we can add Marbury and someone like Joe Smith, it's a totally different story. And if we can get better contribions from TA and Powe and find some minutes for POB and Pruitt, the shy's the limit. This team should be about to win 60 plus and chance a very good shot at another title.

I really don't care about LA. As long as we beat the team we face in the Finals, I'll be really happy.
