I bet we could get him for peanuts and he would fill our need for a defensive minded big. TA and Scal ought to do it.

Why is this marked off topic?

Oh well, Gadzuric would a decent addition. We need some height off the bench. Everytime I've seen him play us he's played well.

:D of course anything about the C's is on topic. But naked cheerleaders and naughty nurses and stuff like that is off.

Not to point out the obvious but he makes twice as much as Scal and for an extra year. We would have to throw in two other guys at least and what exactly are we getting? He isn't a terrible player but is he anymore effective than Baby or Powe?

I can see Wyc sitting in his office going "Yea I want to pay Dan 13-14 mil in salary and taxes to be my 11-12th man."

He'd be some size off the bench and would be way better than Scal, Baby, or Tony!

Naughty nurses are perennially on topic in my book.

But that's off topic! As for Gadz, he always seems to bring when playing the C's. He'd be sort of like a band-aid on a severed artery the way things have been going lately, though.

Gadzuric is foul prone and has a limited offensive game. Ainge made it clear already that he is trying to get a big that can defend and score. If that wasn't the case we would not have turned down Mutombo because he wanted to come here and Ainge said we will have to wait.

The thing is if we had gotten Mutombo, the D would have been so good on the second unit we wouldn't have needed more scoring...the problem now is if KG and Perk aren't playing, the interior D sucks arse (Davis and Powe, here's looking at you!)

I really don't think we need more scoring. Powe is just a scoring big with decent rotations on D.

I can't understand not getting Mutombo. I can't understand it at all.

In playing limited minutes there would be no drop off from him and Perk. With House and Powe as guys whos value are directly porportiante to scoring we don't need another scorer. Just a PG to get them the ball... and that can be arranged in time with making Rondo more and more a second unit player. And having House be masked by the Big 3.

Agreed...the problem we have right now is NO interior D when KG and Perk are out. If we have the D, we don't need to score more since we'll be keeping the other team scoring LESS...

Gadzuric needs playing time to be reasonably effective. If he gets a 20-minutes a game or so, he will defend, rebound and score around the basket. He tends to be a bull in a china shop at times, but I think that he could learn to play within the Celtics system.

The problem is that his contract is bad for the limited production that he offers.

The Bucks will gladly trade him, but they require a center in return. Scalabrini is too much of a perimeter player for what the Bucks need.

Those of you who wanted Mutombo when was the last time you saw him play? His game is very limited and while still a giant of a man defensive rotations and getting up and down the court is not what he does at all. He blocks shots and rebounds.

Gadz is worth a look for free but not for 3 years and 20+ million bucks plus tax.

We need help scoring the ball this basketball we can't win 0 to 0. We need someone who can score the ball and find open teamates on that second unit.
