I got to ask this, although I don't want to...

does anyone here now regret the what Danny did in the summer of 2007?
I personally don't, I believe the franchise needed a shot in the arm. And although we could speculate all day about what could have been, no one really knows for sure. Who knows if we could have ever put a team around Al Jefferson that would have been good enough to win a championship.
At the very least, we got another banner, a few more good years of solid basketball. Although were doing bad now, its been alot of fun the past year and a half.
one might be wondering why I'm asking this question if i feel this way? because i know this question is going to comeback up soon anyway. I hear people over on
www.celticsblog.com saying that Garnett is on the slide, and danny might have to blow this thing up. so i know this kind of talk is coming, plus I think it will be interesting to read what people say.
thanks everybody.

no i dont regret it. if we never won a title with PP/KG/Ray then yes I would. A trio of Paul,Ray,and Big Al would probally have been very good, but probally not title contender good.

Would I trade in a championship and a rejuvenated team and organization for Al Jefferson(whom I love) in the hopes of avoiding a 2-6 slide? No I don't think I would. Nothing that we could do in the regular season will make me regret putting together the team that won number 17.

yes. Theres nothing I hated more than seeing Paul Pierce not only win a title but win finals MVP, along with KG and Ray Allen. GOD DAMN IT DANNY WHY COULDNT WE REBUILD FOREVER!!! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO WANTED ANOTHER 10 YEARS OF REBUILDING?!?!
seriously cut the ****. We won a title and have a chance win another this year, but because we lost a few games its the end of the world. All these band wagon fans need to cut the ****...

Al Jefferson is already better than KG, KG would not be putting up the numbers that Al is in minnasota, and u guys traded a lot of other good pieces for just KG too, just because u won one championship doesn't mean it's all good, u guys traded a very VERY bright future just to please Paul Pierce, traded one championship for several years of a great contending team, ya'll effed up nicely, i knew it once the trade went down, bahahahaha

The Celts shipped the fifth pick in the draft along with high-priced guard Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West to Seattle for Allen and a second-round pick. The deal answers the prayers of team leader Paul Pierce and coach Doc Rivers for another veteran presence in Boston’s lineup. Rivers can now look forward to a high-scoring triumvirate of Pierce and Allen on the wings and young big man Al Jefferson inside.
You guys had SOOOO MANY assets at the time and u coughed them ALL up for 2 aging all stars who only had one more top notch season left in them, there's no way ya'll are winning another one, Lebron's too strong, you get past him this time, pffff,

Yeah, because the Celtics are playing fantasy basketball. That team would have been garbage defensively.

Al jefferson is a defensive liability! He might be a better scorer than KG but I 'll take KG's all wound game Than Big Als one dimensional.

This question has been asked. Many times. And these threads never lead to anything well.

lol. is this serious? there is literally an error every 5 or 6 words (AJ>KG, numbers in Minnesota matter, we traded a lot of good pieces, one championship < several years of contending).

I don't think I've regreted the move for one second since I saw the team first play together.
Nothing beats being a legitimate championship contenders.

I think this team deserves a shot to repeat, but after that, it's a tough call. Stockton and Malone were excellent into their late 30s, other players drop off sharply. Ideally you trade Allen and Garnett just as they're beginning to decline and stay stocked for another 5-6 years.

I'd like to see how you are in other facets of your life Joebiscuit. If you go to McDonalds and they say you have to wait ten minutes do you freak out and tell tales of that companies demise?
