POSITIVES OF THE SEASON THUS FAR?

Post#1 » by Joekickass2008 » Sun Jan 11, 2009 5:00 am

Hey all,

wanted to ask, and perhaps give people the oportunity to find some joy about the C's at the moment, to list and dicuss the seasons positoves thus far. I know we kinda blow at the moment, but wont last forever.....but we must be doing some good stuff, seeing some positives? Agree? Disagree?

I mean Rondo is kinda on a downer at the moment....but DAMN!! He was killer a few weeks ago...it was rose, williams, paul annd now Rondo...thats a good sign for the future. Ray found his shot and proved he can still shoot HOF style.

Gotta be more people! Think...get some positivity around the C's....universe is weird....may help...lol :D

Four of the starters have each played like all-stars for long stretches of the season. Perk has played well too.
The bench played well as a group early in the season, although that now feels longer ago than it was.
Banned temporarily for, among other sins, being "Extremely Deviant".

Joekickass2008, it's been about a day and a half since you posted this and only 3 people reponded to your postive post. That goes to show you how many people here are actually positive. They say they are but they really aren't. Had you posted something half negative, you would have about 20 to 30 responds about how you are crazy. Funny how that works.

In reponse to you, I feel the losing lately is a positve thing. Because it shows Ainge and the ownership that we need to add a few pieces to this team to get back on track on winning another title. I see that as a postive because we have time to address some of our problems that we are facing. This would hard to see when we were winning.

Also we are still on pace to win over 60 games. Any time you can do that, that is a great acomplishment. One other thing is we still have weapons that we have not used yet. I'm talking about Cassell and Bill Walker.

Sam Cassell may be a year older, but if anyone remembers, Sam was having a great 1st half of the season with the Clippers. That being said, Sam should be well rested to help this team in the 2nd half run. IMO, that was a smart move by Ainge in doing this.

Now to Bill Walker. Walker may be young and inexperienced, but Bill brings things to this team that we lack. He is the best athlete on this team and brings toughness and energy. Walker is also our only SF outside of Pierce and that is a position we need off the bench. I feel that Walker will be able to help this team in the 2nd half on the season.

More people are writing on this board because were lottery bound and KG is no longer a superstar

Positive is we have our slump now rather than in April and even with the slump were only a handful of games out of 1st!

i am pretty positive about where we are right now.

of course we could always use an additional piece or two, but i think the team as constructed can win a title.

i'd rather have a midseason slump than a slump at the start of the playoffs (which is what we had last year).

This is just me and not said in any way disrespectful.....I just have no need to post in a special thread to find joy and I'm not feeling down about this team. I think it's just the course of the season. I of course am just speaking for me. I think the team will be ok. That doesn't mean we will win the title this year..I think we will but each season the ball has to bounce just right to win the title. As long as the team is healthy we have as good a shot as any other. Some may need to jump off the wagon as soon as the road gets rough or panic.....I have been around too long for that. 8-)

Exactly, I feel the same way about adding the pieces that we need. The timing of the slump gives us time to correct a few of our issues. I have faith in Ainge on get us back on track. And like I said earlier, I believe that the additions of Cassell and Walker to the rotation will help us out. Not to mention the addition of a vet or two. We should be in a better positon than we are now.

Well, when you post a "whats positive" thread in the middle of a losing streak, it's not going to get a lot of action.

If I had replied Xmas eve, I would have said:

continued emergence of Rondo (then he hit his slump)

continued emergence of Perk (pre injury, and his rebounding had disappeared before he was injured)

emergence of Pruitt as a potential rotation player.

You're trying to defend yourself about why you haven't added anything postive to this tread. That defeats the purpose.

It doesn't matter if we are in the middle of a losing streak. Joekickass2008 is trying to change things up and focus on the postive.

Not really. His post was over the weekend. I can't speak for everyone, but I mostly only come to this site during the week while I'm at work. So I didn't see this thread until just now. If he went on to start 5 more positive threads, I'm sure he'll get a lot more replies.

R2g, I'm not trying to start **** with you, but you have to admit that you have been pretty negative during the slump.
