Roster improvements by Cavs and Celtics

1. How scary is the possibility that Cleveland could easily swing a trade to net someone like Marcus Camby, Shawn Marion, Antawn Jamison, or Michael Redd? They could feasibly trade for a quality big man or scorer to add to their rotation.
2. Perhaps the best case you could make about the loss of Posey was made by Doc Rivers. He basically said that besides Paul Pierce, the Celtics don't really have anyone to put on LeBron. You can't put the shorter TA on him (or at least the shorter TA of the 2008-09 season).
I don't know how much TA will improve the second half or how healthy he'll be. Besides somehow nabbing Joe Smith, or barring some miraculous development by Bill Walker in learning the Celtics system, I'm not sure where we could possibly get another body (a 3 or 4) that we could put on LeBron for a stretch.. that would at least make him earn his offense. I mean, if the Cavs get Pierce in early foul trouble in any game, the Celts are very likely to lose that game.. And for some reason, Ray Allen plays relatively worse against Cleveland, and if Pierce devotes his energy to guarding LeBron.. we could have a hard time scoring.
3. I hope I'm not in a minority, but the Celtics roster as it stands could certainly repeat in 09. But without any roster modifications, that truly isn't very likely.
4. Dream scenario: the Celtics somehow work a trade or two, and a waiver/buyout or two, that would open up roster spots for 2 of: Joe Smith, Alonzo Mourning, and/or PJ Brown.
Add one or two of those guys alongside KG, Perk, and Powe, and you've got yourself a solid big man rotation.
5. At least this summer, we have a good shot at getting Rasheed Wallace (I've already documented and further inferred his close friendships with Doc and KG last year) for the next season or two.. and we'll finally see that dream big man rotation of KG/Perk/Sheed!
