can we sign Darius Miles?

I'm not sure how the 10 day contracts work but Miles is currently on a 10 day contract with the grizzlies. Once that's up ( and if he's played well) is there anything preventing us from signing him? I know we'd have to cut a player ( POB?) or have Cassell retire but it would be a cheap and quick way to get another big on our bench. Plus if he's truly becoming healthy it could pay big dividends. I'd rather have Joe Smith but that seems like a stretch.
ps Mike Miller would be a nice addition but what could we offer to get him?

If the Grizz are playing him they may well keep him which would be one flaw.
He also doesn't address a need. I think we need a true big and a perimeter shooter and he is neither of those. He could provide some scoring and maybe some rebounding but he is not going to get anything done defensively.
At this point Austin Croshere at least provides some legit size and the ability to shoot the 3, score in the paint, and rebound the ball even if gifted defender he is not.

his 10 day contract is up tomorrow and it appears he can sign with anyone. to sign him we'd either have to cut someone or cassell would have to retire.I'm not sure danny wants to do either of those but if we could swing a 2 for 1 for a point guard and then sign darius miles we would have a big plus a guard. Miles isn't a center but he would give us more size. I think he could be a productive player as he continues to get in better shape

i think the celtics will sign him, it is reported that several teams have contacted his agent , i think the celtics are one, and darius would probably choose celtics if that is the case
