Marbury or Steve Francis or Pruitt/Cassell... ?

You guys think it's worth giving any one of them a shot with the Celtics?

Francis will be bought out, although I'm not sure if he'll want to come to Boston, but nonetheless he's available and we all know Marbury might be also.

Perhaps neither are an option and it's best we ride it out with our current bench and give more playing time to Gabe Pruitt and perhaps Bill Walker to boost the bench and then have Cassell bring his experience later in the season.

Thoughts?

I'm personally liking what I'm seeing with Pruitt.

Francis is more done than Cassell will ever be.

I say sign Starbury when and if he gets bought out. He will be rested after sitting on the bench the whole season so far and should add the extra scoring the bench has needed. And I don't think he will be a problem on this veteran lead team. KG,PP amd Ray will keep him in check and if not Danny will let him go and it wont cost anything besides money to get him. No talent wasted.

im of the beleif that francis is still a bit better than cassel. he was just a victim of the New York black hole. he averaged nearly 20 points a game with Orlando that same season he was traded there.

I don't mind giving Pruitt the backup minutes, he's done nothing to show that he can't handle them. If anything, he's shown more composure and basketball IQ than Eddie House. He's also a great defender. Just play the kid.

S1ick, not to be nit-picky, but I wouldn't say so much that Pruitt has a higher BBall IQ than House. House is a really smart player for what he does. The problem is that he does not have the tools to play the point. It's not like he turns it over a ton. Pruitt is just more experienced as a point guard, from his high school and college days. House grew up as a shooting guard and he has made it work in the NBA. But forcing him to run an offense is something he does not have the natural ability to do. Further, it conflict somewhat with his role of spotting up and hitting shots.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I have heard that health wise, Francis is done. It sounded like he lost all of the athleticism he had because of knee (I think) injuries. Marbury is probably a better bet, but I don't trust his head. Too bad there probably is no way to pry Earl Watson from OKC. He would be perfect as a backup point on this team.

Dont think id sign Francis at this point, i think Cassell and Pruitt can do everything he could

Marbury however came into this season in amazing shape, ready to really contribute in whatever way he could to the team... and i think if any other coach was in control of that team we wouldnt even be discussing him being bought out.

He can be relied on to bring the ball up the floor and run and offense unlike House, he can play extended minutes if required unlike Cassell... he can also pair with any one of Sam, Gabe or Eddie in the back court and slide accross to the 2 spot. There are very few second unit 2 guards that will burn him and the man can still seriously score

as much of a nutcase as he may be sometimes, this whole mess has more been new yorks fault IMO and he would be a huge addition to our bench, and would come out with a point to prove... that he CAN contribute to a winning team
