Should Scalabrine remain in the lineup when Perk comes back?

I say Scalabrine should still start when Perkins comes back. We are 5-0 with Scalabrine in the lineup and Scalabrine is much more effective when he starts. In a game vs the Suns when we needed Perkins size the most, we blew them out with Scal instead. I like how Scalabrine also gives the starting 5 more of an offensive punch and giving us more spacing on the floor.

Another reason why I would think about keeping Scalabrine in the starting linuep is because Perkins off the bench would give us the size that we lack. A combo of Perkins and Big Baby is a lot better that Powe and Big Baby. Your thoughts.

Disclaimer: I would have Perkins come off the bench until Perkins can get back into game shape.

I find it hilarious how people have such a short term memory.

Wow. Scal has been good, but come on now. During this 5 game winning streak, we have beaten Toronto twice (who was without O'Neal and Calderon for one of the games) and we needed overtime to win one of the games. We beat New Jersey twice who isn't that good. And we beat Phoenix at home who had just barely won against Toronto and lost to Minnesota and Denver. We have won the past 5 games with Scal starting at center, but we won the championship with Perk starting at center.

I had to add the disclaimer.. I don't beleive Perkins has done anything to lose his starting job. Scalabrine has done a good job with the starting lineup and I would be intersting to see how Perkins plays with the 2nd unit for about a week or two. I just think it will give the team more options until we can pick up another big in the weeks to come.

Wow.

You realize we beat the Nets twice, the cRaptors twice and the Suns? It's not like we beat the Lakers, Cavs and Magic with Scal playing center. This thread is absurd.

Read the disclaimer. Wow. You just proved my point by just going off the title and not reading the entire thing.

I'm just praying that we win the first couple games after Perk comes back or all the yahoo's will be coming out of the wood work calling for Scal, forgetting we won a championship last year and 19 in a row this year with Perk on the floor, once again making this board somewhat unbearable. Perk is an anchor on D, he saves KG a lot of physical pounding, and is a better rebounder by far than Scal. He deserves to be on the floor when the game starts. Kudos to Scal for getting the job done, and maybe there is a role for him on the second unit, but as for the OP, a resounding no.

u know what i think, i think you are clueless,

scalabrine should be traded at the first offer we can get, he is worthless, just because the celtics won 5 in a row in spite of him doesnt meen anything. Darius miles would have done better then him starting

Scals performance has shown me one thing, that the first/second unit rotations doc use shouldnt be the be all and end all

Scal and House should definately be out there in place of Garnett and Rondo at times

leaving something like Rondo/TA/Walker/KG/Davis line-up as the alternate ... and not having to rely on any of the bench guys to create the offense

I don't think Scal should remain as a starter, but I do believe he should be playing a bigger role moving forward. I hope that the past few games has developed some increased confidence with him and he carries that forward. Perhaps part of the issue with Scal, is he's had too much rust to carry around.

I'll point out that last night KG and Davis were guarding Shaq, with Scal not playing Center. Scal was covering Stoudamire, and did a nice job. I think especially having KG guard Shaq is very alarming, I was half expecting him to get elbowed to the floor and carried off. I really don't want to see KG at the 5, unless it's just for a very few minutes at the end of a game.

I've watched Shaq play many times, I never cease to be amazed at how big he is. There was a point Shaq took a shot over Davis without actually jumping, kind of funny. When Davis looks like a little guy, it gives you a sense as to how big Shaq is.

And I think you can't read. Read the disclaimer. Unless Perkins can get back into game shape. Maybe two or three games. This board is beoming a joke. Hardly anyone here ever discusses discusses basketball anymore. It's nothing but personal attacks.

Last year in the playoffs, I kept complaining about Perk slowing donw the whole team. I am already ahead of Doc.

your the same guy, who said the celtics were done, that this team sucks now and were to old to win again... now scal should start just because the celtics have won 5 in a row.

scal is bad, his production on the court is bad, the celtics win in spite of scalabrine, they can pick up a player from the nbdl and plug him at center and the celtics would have won the last 5 games.

scal is bad and to even mention the celtics bench perk in favor of scal is bad

I proposed this for the same reasons in another thread (it was more of a whisper). It'd be interesting to see Perk's impact in the b squad. If Scal continues to play as well as he's been playing and the c's continue to win, it'd be foolish not to wonder how Perk's impact would be on our short (in height) bench.
