Supposedly, Portland has an interest in both Brad Miller and John Salmons from Sacramento. I wonder if Ainge can involve Boston to where the Celtics can acquire Joel Przybilla since Portland would've three centers after that trade. With Scalabrine out indefinitely and O'Bryant unlikely to see his role change. Why not see if you can parlay Powe, Davis and whatever else to get Przybilla?
This works on the Checker.
Portland sends LaFrentz and Outlaw to Sacramento and Przybilla to Boston.
Sacramento sends Miller, Salmons and Douby to Portland.
Boston sends Davis, O'Bryant and Scalabrine to Sacramento and Powe and Walker to Portland.
Portland does this trade to unload LaFrentz's contract. Replaces Outlaw's athleticism with younger and talented Walker. Might create some cap relief as well. Could make a few roster cuts.
Sacramento does this to unload Miller's contract for an expiring contract in LaFrentz and overall cap relief since they'll have quite a few expiring contracts. Could make a few roster cuts.
Boston does this to add a viable back up in Przybilla and room to sign a few minor free agents.

Yea thats way too much to give for Przybilla. But I'd love to get Salmons on this team, he'd be the perfect backup 2 for us.

I don't like the trade at all. Too many C's players leaving so late in the season...
But you're getting better, at least Ray Allen isn't being traded this time.

Przybilla is an underrated center in the league who could easily start for a lot of teams. In my opinion, you aren't giving up a lot if you consider who's being given up. Both Powe and Davis are expiring contracts. While Scalabrine and O'Bryant could be trade fodder discussion around this time next season. The one player of indefinite value is Walker.

i'd love to see any of Pryz, Miller, salmons and/or outlaw. those last 2 would help fill the posey role.
oh, and still be in the hunt for sheed in the offseason. he is willing to sign for cheap, right? tight with doc & kg?

The thing about Wallace is how can Ainge acquire him? Detroit would prefer to trade him than for him to walk after this season. Dumars won't trade him to Boston and his salary's too large anyways. However, if you're another team, why would you trade for a player who may or may not want to sign an extension with your team. Ainge will have to wait and hope that Dumars decides not to trade him by February's deadline.
Like Wallace, Brad Miller's salary's too large. Ainge would've a better chance of acquiring Shelden Williams than the former. I would rather have Outlaw over Salmons if for any reason is his contract is shorter.

I like the idea of Pryz and I think Ainge had interest in him earlier.
No way you include both Powe and Big Baby in a trade, especially for a guy who can't score.
I want a guy like Pryz but I doubt Ainge does. He likes guys like Clifford Robinson or dare I say Joe Smith. Someone tall enough to play center but skilled enough offensively to make a difference.
