I actually think this is a cool idea but only if players like Lebron, Kobe, Paul and KG participate. I want to see these guys mic'd up and talking trash to each other. It would basically be like that McDonald's commercial with Bird and Jordan. This is classic tv in the making if they do it right.

Garnett speaking about Rondo:
"Paul [Pierce] told me never to play that man in H-O-R-S-E and I had to learn the hard way," admits Garnett. "He's really good at using the basket, he's really good at using the backboard and really good with the English. He makes it look easy."

Rondo would be good unless you ask him to make a regular jumper, you'd have to make sure that he didn't get the ball though.

My guess is that Nash would win. Pistol Pete used to dominate this competition in the past, and Nash is probably the closest analogue to him in the NBA, plus he'd probably throw in some soccer stuff using his head and feet.

Calderon could win using a war of attrition approach and continually shoot FTs through the night.

Didn't Lebron get beat by some off the street average dude? He should be in the competition over Lebron.

I've been wanting to see a horse comp for quite sometime. Hopefully some of the bigger names do it.

I hate to say it, but Kobe's probably the man in H-O-R-S-E

Bird is probably the GOAT at the game.

Rondo would never be selected and it'd be for the same reasons that the general board would think why he shouldn't go. Yeah, he can't hit a jump shot in game, but he has just as much creativity and ability around the basket as anyone.

Would anyone object to eliminating the slam dunk contest in favor of this permanently. I mean you can have participants do dunks in this too. I would be open to it since the slam dunk contest is stale and none of the big name players compete or they seldom do so.

I know everyone will say no. But, when I use to play this it wasn't limited to perimeter shooting--you were allowed to do anything you were capable of doing. Dunking would just add a twist to it.

They'll never get rid of the dunk contest. And I don't want them too either. It is not that stale, it has been getting better over the last few years.

I don't know if any of you guys have read the book "Golden Boys" but its about the Dream Team. One of the chapters is about the greatest game of horse ever played. MJ, Magic, Mullin, Drexler, and Pippen doing ridiculous stuff like shooting and making 3 pointers with there off-hand. I'm lookin forward to this contest.

Bill Simmons should get all the credit in the world for this. I seriously cannot wait to see this.

You have to be able to simply hit shots from deep,
if required,
in an NBA game of Horse.

A 3 point shooter like Nash would just kill Rondo.
