Glen Davis last 3 Games

Post#1 » by Jammer » Sun Feb 8, 2009 9:32 pm

This thread is in honor of RealGM member bruiser,
who in the past week let it be known that my criticism of
Glen Davis since pre-season is, in his opinion,
excessive and unfair.

My most negative comment all season was that
regardless of his achievements against other teams,
that Glen Davis would be ineffective against the Cavs, Lakers and Spurs.

So, in honor of bruiser's protest of my feelings,
we pay tribute to Glen Davis achievements of his
last 3 games against the Lakers, Knicks and Spurs.

49 Total Minutes
6 points (2-12 FG, 2-2 FT)
8 Rebounds
2 Assists
2 Turnovers (Great)
0 Blocks
0 Steals
5 Fouls

bruiser, I will give ya that the little tike is doing the best that he can; and has a
High IQ, great personality, and would make a great pulling guard for the Patriots.

I'm not gloating, just sad that there's no one better to take his minutes.

Would love a Big who could hit an open look.

I have been saying it all along. big baby is not good. he puts up numbers sometimes but he is a joke defensively. i can't stand him. powe is 1000x better.

i'm baffled that i am watching him play, and others are watching him play, and i come to such a different conclusion than the norm. cut big baby. (and by cut i really mean trade him for a low 2nd and sign a vet big man)

athletes go in and out of hot streaks. look at ray allen in the phily game versus ray allen today or in the laker game. if anything baby and powe seem to yin and yang- when one is going good the other isn't and vice versa

Typical celtics bench player story: We have no idea what to expect when any of the bench come into the game.

Once games matter more, I think this notion is overrated and I hope that there is not such an emphasis on 2 pt jumpshots for our bigs. It will be nice to see Baby hit these shots in situations where they are needed or on "occasion" wherever it might be necessary to keep defenders off balance or open a lane we need opened.

But in terms of direct point production, ignoring any indirect effects, Baby shooting 50% on jump shots is arguably worse than Tony shooting 30% from beyond the arc on equal quantities. For every 10 shots, Baby scores 10 pts, Tony scores 9 pts. But, with Baby under the rim as opposed to near the arc, we pull down more of Tony's missed shots than we do Baby's missed shots.

yes but Tony Allen is a game changer on defense. Baby is just rotten on D.

The only thing Baby is good for is setting picks. He is fundamentally sound, but is too small to defend pfs and c's, and too slow (although he is quick for his size) to defend wingmen. maybe if he was on the pacers or some crappy team, but he should not be a rotation player on an nba champ.

Yep...Glen Davis reverted back to form, that is SUCKING horribly...

I would trade his ass out of town so fast, but who in their right **** mind would want him?
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
