Gulp..Sam I Am?

This scares me to write, but, is it time to get Sam back into game shape? I'm not 100% sure if he has a set time when he's coming back, but if you think about it, what we hated about him last year would be huge for us this year. We need someone on the second line, besides Eddie, who isn't triggershy with the ball and who can handle and make good decisions. Maybe he's just what we need..

I'd expect to see the testicle dance after the all star break if we are going to see it at all.

Sam's probably got the PJ "I'm a vet bitch" half season game ;)

If he can get the ball out of Sam's hands...

I honestly think if we have to resort to Sam, we are doomed...

I think we'll see Sam soon, and I'm willing to bet it's a better Sam now that he has had a year to learn the offense and defense (well forget the defense, it's Sam). Last year he was lost coming in mid-season and they told him to just "be himself", which means Sam is shooting the ball. I think he'll be a little more versatile this year. Plus, if the Celt's want to make money selling jerseys on Sam's home planet they'd better let him play.

Dude, were I betting man, I'd put the house down against you...and win. Sam is a chucker with old legs...old dogs don't learn new tricks and Sam is no exception. He's *always* been a gunner and always will be. Just what this team does NOT need on the 2nd unit when the offense stagnates ANYWAY...

My problem was that, on the road, he just couldn't hit his shots at all. It's like he all of a sudden forgot how to shoot. If his shots were going in, I don't think he would have hurt the team. The team has been struggling at the end of games a lot lately, so I wouldn't have a problem with him getting minutes at all.

Just what this team does not need is a true PG with shooting range and a desire to be the focal point offensively? I think that's exactly what the 2nd unit needs...Sam's playmaking was a step below his norms last year when he joined the C's - not on par with his career to that point.

You want to bet the house on it, I think your odds aren't as good as you perceive...

Since when in the **** history of the universe has Sam ever been a "true PG" as you claim?? He's the classic SG in a PG body with the desire to pass of Kobe... :o

If Leon Powe is the basketball black hole, then Sam is the center of the galaxy. (does that make sense?) Passing the ball to Sam kills the ball movement. But he would be one of the few, if not only, guys on the bench able to create for himself. He has a nice fadeaway shot too.

It will be interesting to see if Doc breaks the seal on Sam after the all-star break. He's claimed he's been conserving him for the stretch run. I'd like to see if Sam's ballhog ways were a product of his limited familiarity with the offense or just the nature of his current game. If he can run a pick and roll and set up his teammates in between chucking off-balance turnarounds, I might prefer him to house.

I'm still a fan of Cassell. Why not? Let him play some. I think Scalabrine began to realize when he was playing that he was actually earning his salary while his bench mate was stealing money without interruption. Notice how quickly Scalabrine convinced Rivers to send him back to the bench. I'm telling you... He and Cassell are thieves.

The plan all along is to save Sam until after the break and then let him get warm for the playoffs. Why else would they have wasted a roster spot?

No kidding. The offense of the second unit is already stagnant. Sam would cause it to grind to a halt and calcify on the spot...

They'll break the old Caddy out of the garage when the weather turns..

I could get aggravated with him at times, but it sure is fun watching him take a youngster down on the post and just go to work on him

The man speaks the truth!!!

Even when Sam was actually good, he was always a shoot first, second, third... hundredth and maybe pass hundred first.

What has been Cassel's deal this year? I always see him in street clothes on the bench, is he still a part of the team? I know he wants to be a coach in a year or so, so is he gaining experience through this? Cassel would not be my idea of an option coming off the bench b/c he really has nothing left and as said before he isn't a pure PG who looks to set up plays but instead shoots first.

Cassell helps us more in street clothes than in uniform. 0 > negative
