OT: Big Al tore his ACL

Post#1 » by dingodile » Mon Feb 9, 2009 7:39 pm

No official report from the team yet, but Kingly (Big Al's friend and our former inside source) just posted the diagnosis on the Timberwolves board.

This really sucks for Al. He's had such a starcrossed career. I'm glad he got his contract though.
"I can tell you my testicles are the same size," he added later. "They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have." - Barry Bonds disputing allegations of steroid use.

That really sucks. I feel so bad for Al. Couldn't have happened to a better kid. I loved seeing him interviewed by Dickerson when we played them last week. He was joking about his footwork was better than McHale's. Here's to a quick recovery.

Such a shame. I really like Al. He's been seriously beasting recently too. Hope he comes all the way back and more.

Terrible news. For some time, my hopes for the Celtics evolved around following the progression of Big Al principally (although Rondo was in there too). I have no regrets about the KG trade, but still have a soft spot for Al.

Here's hoping for a fast and full recovery.

One of my favorite players in the league, just a joy to watch. Really has turned into one of the best post player in the NBA. Hopefully he can recover fully and resume his impressive career.

Just awful news for Al, Wolves fans, and all hoops fans. Jefferson deserved to be an All-Star this year, and now this. May he have a quick recovery.

Wow. This sucks. You never wanna see a player go down, especially after what looked like Minnesota has got it going for a bit there.

Wow, the past several weeks have been crazy with all the injuries to key players.

Too bad for Al. And for a double whammy, I have him on my fantasy team or had should I say.

He had been posting some monster statlines recently too...

34/14/4 vs the Lakers, 34/11/4 on a good FG% vs us, the other night he posted a 36 pt 22 reb 4 ast 4 stl 2 blk night matched up against Yao.

25/14 last night in what very possibly would have been a win if he didn't tear his ACL.

WHAAAT?!? NOOOO!!!! seriously, that was my reaction. Hopefully Kevin Love and the rest of the team learns how to man up, and when Al comes back everyones just that much more seasoned.

Edit: I paid 50 bux for nba broadband so I could follow Al and the T-Wolves like 2 weeks ago. great.

Wow, that sucks so much. Outside of the Celtics he's my favorite player in the league. I'm also one of the people that envisioned the Celtics with Al, as one of the people leading the way before the KG trade came. I can't say I'm don't like what the trade has brought, but I have a huge softspot for Al and really wish he was still here.

Hopefully he has a quick and smooth recovery. He's been great and deserved to be an all star.

Awful. Just as Al was becoming the allstar we all knew he could be. Even though I have no quarrel whatsoever with the KG trade in my heart he's still a Celtic. I wish him a speedy recovery.
