Sacramento Bee wrote:The important league-wide development is that Horry rates the Spurs and Celtics as his most-likely landing spots. Both understandable. San Antonio is a contender and familiar from the past five seasons there and close to Houston, an important consideration to stay near his family. Boston is the defending champion and has kept him on the radar all along as a potential stretch-drive signing.
Boston, obviously, is not close to Houston. And even Horry jokes about a potential reunion with Celtics GM Danny Ainge and how it will take a nano-second before someone posts the clip of Horry throwing a towel in the face of coach Danny Ainge when they were with the Suns. But the Celtics have the strong lure of a shot at another ring and the stronger lure of point guard Sam Cassell, a close friend from their Rockets days.
"The only person that can really talk me into Boston is Sam," Horry said.

Take it for what it's worth. I know some on here don't think he can play anymore.

Man, if he goes to the Celtics and win another ring, he's officially the GOAT in my book.

He'd be good if we ended up trading away 3 players for 1 or something and need to fill out the roster, otherwise I'm all set.

Not who I would want to bring in to play for the Celtics. I don't see what he can add to the team at this point in his career.

I think he'd be a great pick-up...sure he had a rough year last year from a statistical standpoint, but his experience, defensive intelligence, and propensity for coming up big in clutch situations would be a welcome addition to this team...he'd certainly add something to the mix...

A power forward who can stretch the floor... pick him up!

I would definitely take him. He can always hit that big shot...we need someone who can spread the floor on offense and he would be perfect for that. Scal just isn`t a good enough shooter...
And he can at least bring something to this team in the playoffs unlike POB, Giddens, Walker even Pruitt...
But I doubt he chooses us, he hates Ainge, so I don`t think he will end up here...

I doubt Horry still has that decisive shot...man, he is around 38 years old...what about his defense

Well on the other hand better than Tony playing sf

So much for that agrument huh?
Horry
32% fg
26% 3's
Over the last 8 years Horry has only shot over 40% twice. He's a career 34% shooter from the outside.
Scal on the other hand.
40% fg
37% from 3
Scal's career 3 is on par with Horry's, actually a slightly higher.
If we were talking about prime Robert Horry than sure great move. But Horry is just not that guy anymore. And lets not forget that Scal actually brings some defense to the table.

Fellow Celtics fans might not realize this, but Robert Horry has been one of the better defenders in the NBA over his career.
Think of it this way. Doc Rivers wouldn't be considering bringing you in, if you weren't capable of playing real good defense. And we already know from Sam through Horry's ESPN quote that Doc wants to bring him in next month.
here's another quote from ESPN: "Posey is a good friend of mine, I love him as a person. But he can't play as many positions as me. I think he plays D almost as good as me, even though he doesn't block shots like I did. He's a great player, but until he reaches that seven mark, he's no Robert Horry."
Not only does Doc think highly of his ability to play defense, but even Horry considers himself a great defensive player. This could really work

Down 2, final possession, who do you want shooting a three pointer, Horry or Scal? Maybe it is just me but I would take Horry...

To be honest, neither.

The one thing about Horry is that he has that chippyness to his game, just ask Danny. He is an instigator, he can get under the other teams skin. I thought Powe could be that guy but he isn't we can certainly find a roster spot for him even if it is Sam's.

If Ray Allen doesn't take that shot I am going to be so pissed I might go blind.

Didn't Horry go 3 straight games without scoring in the playoffs last season? I'm sure I read that somewhere. Probably why he's not in a Spurs uniform right now.

I like Rob and all but my boy is DONE, if he had anything left don't you guys think he would've signed some where already ? I know Danny will add somebody because he's too cunning, plus they have to be on the roster by March 2 to qualify for the playoff roster.
