Cleveland in the mix for Stoudamire?

Post#1 » by klemen4 » Wed Feb 11, 2009 9:45 pm

Ohh...I hope not.

I found on Miami site that one Phoenix talk radio reported that Portland and Miami are out of the running for Amar'e, and the Cavs and Bulls are now the two front-runners.
In addition, he also said that Miami is in the process of finalizing a deal that would send Banks and Marion to Toronto for Jermaine O'Neal.

So it is either:

CHI
Gooden
Thomas
Simmons

CLE
Well what could Cleveland give the suns? They have basically only 2 options:

1)
Sczerbiak
Hickson
Pick

2)
Snow
Varejao
Hickson
Pick

The second package really could interest Suns. Snow is expiering and insurance pays 100% of his salary, Varejao has one year left but has player option. Hickson is just 19 years old and has potential, Draft pick 26th -30th in 09.

...Lets hope Chicago and other teams put together better packages.

If PHO does any of those trades, Kerr needs to be kicked in the nuts. Those are just turrible.

There is also one more crazy option:

Snow
Varejao
Hickson
Pick
+
Sczerbiak
Pavlovič

FOR

Staudamire
Oneil

This version is crazy but it saves Pho additional 20 mio in 09/10.

I can't see CLE offering a better deal than CHI for Amare, but who knows at this point.

I agree Sully but who knows what Kerr is thinking. He may be in full rebuilding mode now and wants Wally and his expering contract.

Cavs have put themselvs in a great spot to land another solid play.

If someone can't come up with something better than Cleveland, several gm's need to be fired... Miami, Chicago, NYK and Portland can all top Cleveland.

Scary on offense. If you collapse the defense they have some outside shooting.

So it would all depend on whether Cleveland's coaching could coax continued excellent defense out of that crew.

I can't believe these garbage offers Chicago is making, it's like their offers for Gasol all over again.

I know Tyrus Thomas has potential and has had a nice run in the last couple of weeks, but man...

Amare Stoudemire for guys who aren't even the 3rd best player on a lottery team?????

If I'm Phoenix, I demand Deng or tell them to go to hell.

I always hoped we could sign Tyrus Thomas as a reclamation project because of the Big Baby connection...

Freaking Bulls luck into one great player in the lottery, they're still not a playoff team, and they start overrating their one other solid player (Deng) and calling him untouchable.

I remember arguing with Bulls fans about how going *into* the lottery 2 years ago, we were in better position as a franchise than they were, since they had a bunch of good but not great guys but we had the chance to get another great guy...funny how that one worked out.
