The Toronto Raptors have agreed to send Jermaine O'Neal and Jamario Moon to the Miami Heat in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks, league sources told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.

The deal is pending league approval, according to league sources.

Trade that won't help either team much, keeping them on the proverbial treadmill of mediocrity. Marion will help the Raps for the next few months, but he's gone next season. JO will probably stay injured more often, because dancing in night clubs can cause stress on his knees. Should also be interesting to see how JO and Haslem get along, since JO referred to Haslem as a "fake tough guy" a few years back.

It is a good deal for Miami as O'Neal is playing rather well, its expensive but he is a legit big and Moon is probably as good as Marion especially at the 3 spot. Marion looks like toast and Banks...well we know all about that.

If O'Neal and Wade stay healthy they will be a tough out in the 1st round, mached up with the ATL that would be a great 1st round match up.

I thought Marion could have netted something better for the Heat. That's a shame for D Wade that Riley couldn't swing Boozer or Stoudemire. Instead, the oft injured and over the hill O'Neal. All this move does for the Heat is clear up playing time for Beasley.

Well, if O'Neal can stay healthy he's a better post defender than anyone on the Heat. That's a big if. Toronto moves on from the failed O'Neal experiment and clears salary at the end of the season. Sadly, in clearing cap space I think the Raptors win on this trade, though Moon might benefit nicely from playing alongside someone who draws as much attention as Wade, but I guess that goes for anyone who plays alongside Wade. Overall, I'm just not sure what the Heat were thinking on this deal.

I see amare to the bulls as the next big name. Whether or not paxson leaves.

I dont like what the bull can send for Amare, Phx should focus on a 3 way if he ends up in chi town.

I have to ask huh? Marion's release is as bad I have ever seen it and he can't make the 3 anymore. He can rebound still but he isn't anywhere near the defensive factor he once was. Dude is just a role player now.

How is JO anymore injury prone than Boozer? JO is 30 years old somehow I think he might have a year or two left and he actually plays defense. I wouldn't want him shooting 16-20 shots a game but he can still score, rebound and defend and while he isn't worth 20+ mil he is going to help the Heat.

The Heat went from a tragically short team to O'Neal/Haslem/Beasley up front and Chalmers/Wade in the backcourt, with Moon, Cook, and Anthony off the bench. That cockroach Riley does it again.

Guess Miami wants to hang onto Beasley.

Chicago should get Portland to do a 3-way for Amare. Phoenix has to love Raef's insurance covered contract.

I doubt that very much, seeing Callangelo was the guy who drafted him and gave him the ridiculous contract that is coming to an end. TOR is probably the one place he will get more the MLE next year why would he want to terminate his Bird rights? If he would report to Miami last season I don't think he will have a problem with going to TOR.

Other than cap relief, I don't get this move. Especially getting rid of Moon.
