Its nice to see Payton admits he was proven wrong about Rondo. Nice to see stars chilling and joking around too

"we chose to pick on [Rondo] because we thought it would light a fire under him..." BS. Just admit you evaluated him wrong. Though it is nice to admit he is playing well now.

I love how Payton is talking like hes an assistant coach or something "Light a fire under him" , first when did it become your job to light a fire to motivate players, second you are a washed up below average commentator that only compares players to himself in the glory days.

You need to remember how tight KG, Pierce, Walker and Doc are with Payton

Already, 5 people mentioned that Doc or Ainge asked Payton to say these things. I mean come on.. these guys do talk, and Gary Payton has only helped Boston by upsetting Rondo. This is classic Doc Rivers.. calling in a favor.

Yeah I'm not surprised he was doing that to light a fire under Rondo. Payton is still very close with a lot of people in our organization, and even his hate on Rondo seemed very unbelievable because he almost slipped up one time.

I remember one time he was hating on Rondo (said he was one of the worst starting PGs right?), but then he slipped up and said Rondo is a top 10 PG in the league (said that back in like December). All the hate always seemed kind of insincere, but it was still annoying.
