"you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope someday Shaq will join us, and the C's will be number 1" ....yeah, corny, who cares...
The Suns are trying to cut spending... the try to trade Shaq... no takers... trade deadline comes and goes... the Suns buy Shaq out... Shaq signs with the C's... C's repeat as champions over the hated Fakers... "Kobe.. how my #$$ taste?"
Why not? Suns are trying to go uptempo and Shaq doesn't exactly fit that style. They can justify it to their fanbase by keeping Amare. One of the 2 had to go because of cash. Danny trades Baby, Powe, Giddens, and the 2cd round draft pick they aquired today for a couple bad Suns bench players before the trade deadline with this buyout in place, so the Suns don't look too bamboozled in this deal. Our fanbase would be up in arms until Shaq signed here of course. Baby, Powe, and Giddens (heck I would even throw in Walker). All three or four players would excel with the Suns offensive system.
Shaq would get his revenge on Kobe and the Fakers.
I know it will won't happen... but could it? We didn't think we could aquire KG without the #5 pick.
Like I said, if the Suns are trying to move Shaq, but can't... what next. Especially if they can save cash. Check the headlines on GM. Suns trying to cut payroll. If Shaq doesn't fit in with their style... they already fired their coach to play their old way. Why not?

After the lovefest I saw Sunday there's no doubt in my mind he'd be back in LA in a heartbeat.

No team in the NBA will ever , EVER, cut Shaq. No matter how bad Shaq gets, the fact remains he sells jerseys and puts butts in the seats. Cutting a cash cow is a horrible horrible decision.

Don't believe ever thing you see. That was all for show because Shaq, Kobe and Phil had to deal with each other for All-Star weekend. Now that the weekend is over with Shaq will go back to his Kobe tell me how my you know what taste. As far as Shaq coming to the Celtics goes I've thought about it but it would have to come via a trade in a three way deal between Boston, Phx and Chi-town or Boston, Phx and TO. Either way I don't see Shaq in Green.

Shaq is kind of a goofball, but he is a lot classier than Kobe. I think it would be great to have Shaq here, and I would start him in place of Perkins. (Though I think Perkins has really grown into his position.) With Shaq, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo, we'd have possibly the coolest starting 5 ever. We'd also lose like 2 games next year.
Marbury, on the other hand, would have to be our aging all-star backup point guard. Though I'm not sure if Rondo is actually better than Marbury, I would still start Rondo for continuity and chemistry reasons.
I would never, under any circumstances, want to see Kobe in a Celtics uniform. He's a real zero, and I hope he never wins a championship without Shaq.

I remember reading that S. O'Neal wouldn't be adverse to returning to the Lakers once his contract expires.
I can't find an article, but I found this.
"Hopefully it'll be here," he said, walking through the hallway in Staples Center. "I was part of the greatest one-two punch in Laker history. Hopefully they still remember that.
"In a perfect world, I have four teams, I'd be the first guy standing there with all four jerseys, number retired in all four places. It's not something I really think about. If I had my first wish, it would be here. Because when I first came here, I made the statement I would love to have my name next to Kareem and those greats."
Seems like a no-brainer, but Shaq's less than amicable split from the team makes it more of a question than it really should be.
Shaq's contributions to the history of the Lakers franchise are without question worthy of having his jersey retired in Los Angeles. It just might take a little effort on O'Neal's part -- in terms of mending the relationship with Buss -- to actually make it happen.

Shaq is one of the few players who understands the history of the NBA...I could see him wanting to play for Boston to win a ring and be like Russell (a Center who won a ring in Boston) especially since he could stick it to LA by doing so. But that doesn't mean I'd necessarily *want* Shaq on the C's...he's so slow and unathletic at this point and always banged up...
