I love these types of rumors so I'll repost something here that I just read on Celticsblog. Just looking at the numbers, Camby makes 8 mil this year so Scal at 3,200,000 and other player(s) would have to be involved plus sweeteners for the Clips.:

I'm by no means vouching for any rumors, but you're going to see some crazy things happen in the next few days like the New Orleans/OKC trade. There are so many owners is financial trouble that teams unafraid to add salary can get some lopsided deals. So if the Celtics give the Clips a 25% salary savings plus extra cash and benefits, deals like this are plausible in this bizarre economic situation.

theyd have to trade at least 4 people for camby if you didnt trade away any of the starting 5, just to make the numbers work.

Tony Allen and Scal and anyone else is enough salarywise.

Cambys also expiring, Scal (who would have to be included) is not...

I'm all for it. Camby would be awesome, I just dont see it possible.

If we could get Camby, DA would be a god.

Camby has this year and next left.

You would only be giving up one or two rotation players not four, especially since Tony Allen can't be considered a current rotation guy now that he's injured.

Can we trade Tony with a long term injury?

Donald Sterling is known for being cheap, that is the only reason I could see this happening. As has been said, it would be nice however unlikely it would be.

Would Camby be happy coming off the bench?

I guess in theory you could trade Scal, TA, Giddens, Walker, O'Bryant and Pruitt for Camby. We'd have to bring in Marbury and pull a small forward out of thin air.

Thats the only thing the celtics could do, and even then theyd prolly have to throw in a first. Plus then the clippers would have to waive people on their team right now to take in all these players, thus costing them more money outright.

Chris Kaman is someone that makes more sense moneywise for both teams. but thats meh and not camby.

Only way I could see Sterling doing this is because they want to make sure their cross-town rivals don't get another championship.

I hope it's true, but I remember reading a Jojo White rumor a few years back that said Danny was going to pursue Al Harrington.
