I like this deal for the Nets but I don't get it for Portland. If you've Roy, where does Carter play? At small forward? The thing that's interesting, though. Rodriguez would go from a back up there to a back up there. Didn't Rodriguez desire to start or at least have a bigger role with Portland? He's starting now due to Blake being out. But, the Nets already have Harris in place. Rodriguez might want to walk when his contract expires. Still, I like the idea that New Jersey has the freedom to decide on whether or not they see both players in the long term plans.

Currently the Blazers and Rockets are both haggling over what the Nets will get in return for Carter.

Sources say the Blazers and Nets have discussed a deal that would send Carter to Portland for Raef LaFrentz and his expiring contract along with Travis Outlaw and Sergio Rodriguez.

Portland seems to be talking to everyone. They have been rumored to be looking at Carter,Richard Jefferson,Stoudemaire,John Salmons,Caron Butler and Im sure im missing at least ten other players. They probally have the most sought after player at the deadline. Raef Lafrentz and his expiring deal.
