Patrick. Have a good one in Toronto.
Will, um, yeah we hardly knew ya. 55 minutes.
The Celtics have traded Patrick O’Bryant to Toronto for Will Solomon, but they will still get the roster spot they desire.
Solomon is being sent to Sacramento for a conditional second round draft pick (similar to the Sam Cassell trade).
That gives the Celts two open roster spots, and they hope to fill at least one with a veteran big man over the next couple of weeks.
With their available bodies at 11, J.R. Giddens is being called up from the D-League and will be with the Celts when they play the Jazz tonight.

How dare the Celtics show such disrespect to one of best talents the game has ever seen brother?Because you know something Mean Gene, when the Hulkster thinks of Will Soloman, he is reminded of a quote by Shakespeare, "Thou shall not look upon his like again brother." But let the Hulkster make this very clear Celtic fans, KG better be drinking his milk, taking his vitamins and saying his prayers brother, because the forces of Hulkamania will be working against the Celtics brother.

POB, we all loves seeing your gangly ass sitting on the bench, hope you learn to play someday.
Will, we all had a lot of fun wondering what the hell the point of trading for you was, good luck!

I guess POB must really be "that bad" if we wanted to free up his roster spot so much that we had to make two trades to get rid of him. Wow!

Is that the shortest career as a Celitic ever??? At least if we win it all this year, he can tell his grandkiddys he was a celt in their championship year.

I actually wished we held onto POB. He's very young and can score. Should have been in the D-league all year.

GREAT move. Solely because we are no longer on the hook for Patrick O'Bryant's second year.
It's nice to have another roster spot open too.
We potentially could kill everyone if we get a Center and a PG for our bench!!!!
If not, one out of two ain't bad. And next year we won't have to be paying O'Bryant for nothing.

Yes I love the trade, and then the trade b/c we have two roster spots opened up to add some bench guys. Pretty much what the ^ above me said. I felt like Doc misused O'Bryant, if Doc gave him more minutes, I felt Patrick could have contributed something, but oh well, he won't be missed. Who is this Solomon guy? With Smith saying he wants to get a buyout and rejoin the C's to play with KG makes me feel pretty pumped. With two roster spots open, something else could be done too.

When will players, e.g., Joe Smith, begin to be bought out of their contracts and waived?
