After undergoing surgery this morning to repair a partially detached retina in his right eye, Amare Stoudemire is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season.

Stoudemire could return to physical activity in eight weeks but a team press release said that would “depend upon his healing process.”

This is the same eye that kept Stoudemire out during training camp when Boris Diaw poked it during a practice. At that time, Stoudemire suffered a partially torn iris with no damage to his cornea, retina or lens.

Looking in the rearview, I bet a lot of people are happy they didn't pull the trigger on a trade yesterday. This will also even out the roster with us missing KG next game.

I was kinda bummed about that. I almost posted on the suns board showing my condolences. almost. I was looking forward to seeing what Amare could have done the rest of the seaon now that their back to their old offense. Especially after he said he was gonna give his all, and by the looks of it, he was telling the truth. Glad he won't be playing against us though!
