Overall, the top 8 players are great, and Championship worthy,
until you realize that the best bench player, Tony Allen,
may not be available until deep in the playoffs,
and may not be himself until next year.
Thus, it's imperative to add someone.
The key to realize is that players like
Joe Smith would take Glen Davis and Brian Scalabrine's minutes,
and Steph Marbury would take Gabe Pruitt's minutes (and give Ray/Paul a break);
so are essential to locking up a repeat.
NET PER is your PER minus Your Man's PER
Only 207 players are ranked, since 35% of Total Team Minutes are required for Ranking.
NET PER *** Player ********* NBA Rank
+09.8 *** Kevin Garnett ****** 11
+07.5 *** Ray Allen ************ 21
+07.1 *** Paul Pierce ********** 23
+06.1 *** Rajon Rondo ******** 34
+04.4 *** Tony Allen
+02.4 *** Eddie House
+01.2 *** Leon Powe
-02.5 *** Kendrick Perkins ** 158
-06.4 *** Gabe Pruitt
-06.8 *** Bill Walker
-07.9 *** Glen Davis ********** 204
-10.9 *** Patrick O'Bryant
-12.4 *** Brian Scalabrine
My dream is for Scalabrine and Davis to be out of the rotation (Joe Smith??).
Defensively, Tony Allen has the best straight up rating of any Celtic.

I think Pruitt is working his way into the rotation. His defense on star PG is very good. It also lets House play the 2. Pruitt's 13.4 defense has been noticed by the coaching staff.
We have plenty of scoring punch. It is nice to be ablle to bring a PG stopper in when Rondo gets in foul trouble.

Jammer, where can I find NET PER results per season?
Who would win one-on-one in HORSE?
Bird: Nobody beats me in H-O-R-S-E. Besides, Magic cant shoot.
Magic: Larry, you'd have no chance against me one-on-one. I've got too many ways to beat you. Plus, as slow as I am, I'm still faster than you.

Hi Harison -
http://www.82games.com calculates all 30 teams, and did last year as well.
NET PER is the primary component of the site founder's (Roland Beech) Roland Rating,
which also includes on court/off court plus/minus (to a much lessor degree)
when calculating the Roland Rating.
When you look at Roland ratings, you can click on each column
(league wide rating as opposed to individual team rating)
to numerize each column from high to low.
His prior season data varies (off hand, I don't recall which
statistical methods and their weightings prior to last year),
but check out his site.
I like the picture of Roland in his short's as one of the ten basketball journalist's
invited to the IMG Pro Training Center in Florida.

I actually like Scal replacing KG for 10 mins a game as opposed to big baby. He can hit the outside shot, defends well, doesn't commit stupid fouls or turnovers, and has high IQ on both ends. Depending on the matchup, Powe or Davis should split the backup Center duties.
I like Pruitt in the lineup. He doesn't stagnate the offense, keeps the ball moving, and plays great D.
House is House, he's good in limited minutes as a chucker.
Believe it or not, my top 3 guys off the bench in the playoffs would be House, Scal, and Pruitt. They fit in best with the starters.
