First impressions of Mikki Moore?
Mikki`s first game in a Celtics uniform: 13 minutes, 4 points (2-2 FG), 2 ast, 1 rb, 2 fouls.
I thought he did a pretty decent job. I think he will help on offense, his jumper looks nice. He also has length which we badly needed but I am a bit worried about his defense.
He just doesn`t seem to have the strength to defend bigger NBA centers. I liked PJ last year because he could defend Ilgauskas, Gasol...I just don`t see Moore being effective against these guys.
Offensively he will be a good fit, IMO, defensively I have my doubts...
All in all, from what little we could see he is pretty much the player I expected him to be.

Good shooters, but clearly still confused about what do to out there. A little Patrick O'Bryant-esque setting screens and rotating on defense. Hopefully he's a quick learner.

A bit too early to tell. He looked lost out there, but that's okay, considering he knows next to nothing about the team defense or offense. Even PJ Brown didn't play immediately after signing. I really liked his effort out there last night though.

Re: First impressions of Mikki Moore?
When he shoved Powe to the top of the key to man-up on Baron Davis, in the 4th quarter, I cringed. So stupid. Of course, Baron predictably blew right past Powe, got the bucket and 1.
It's excusable because he has no clue what he's supposed to do in our system, but that was so stupid. This isn't the Kings defense.

Re: First impressions of Mikki Moore?
He does not look anything like POB except for the fact that he is a seven footer
i like his length and hustle, he needs a little time to learn the defensive rotations, he has a nice jump shot, he is alot quicker than o'bryant
he did have two bad fouls that resulted in two three point plays
but i have hope for him, it took PJ some time to show promise too, i dont think anyone expected him to wow right away

In fairness, PJ didn't look very good for us at first and actually didn't play that well during the reg season. The playoffs is where he made the impact and if Mikki can do the same, then I'm more than fine with that.

Good mid range shot, can't rebound and lost on defense. Once he learns the system, he will be more helpful. But he is Mark Blount when it comes to rebounding.

Re: First impressions of Mikki Moore?
He will be useful, he moves well for a guy his size so he can challenge shots and he can make a jump shot and add some hustle. He isn't a great man defender and he isn't going to do much against Dwight Howard but other than that most of the other big centers are face up guys anyhow, Big Z isn't backing anyone down. He isn't much of a rebounder but he does handle the ball well and that is a huge problem with our bigs. I don't see a finals MVP in his future but he should be able to help.

Re: First impressions of Mikki Moore?
Solid shooter, active around the court, had a nice dish to Eddie for a 3...
Sure he looked lost, but all he had was one pre game shoot around with the team, thats it
no practice on rotations, no practice on the offense (after last night... what offense???) ..
he will be fine, i actually would have liked thibs or another coach to have sat with him during the game and talked him through things

He looked lost yet still looked better than POB ever did...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Re: First impressions of Mikki Moore?
I thought he looked like he could add a different element up front, not a guy who could really unseat Davis in his role but a guy, along with Powe and Scals, that you can use situationally.
And as expressed above, a better than expected shooter. Plus, he plays with energy and he's long so once he gets the rotations down I think he'll be able to make an impact in help defense and with loose balls (or 50/50's as Doc likes to say).

Re: First impressions of Mikki Moore?
He is like a taller Walter McCarty. I suppose some will take that as a massive insult - but I don't mean it that way. He hustles - shoots decently from the outside and has the potential to bug people. With his slight build he needs to be paired up with a bruiser. But we have 3 of those already in Perkins, Powe and BBD. So it's a nice different look for us.

At least he doesn't average 3 moving pick fouls per game.

A taller Walter McCarty with a consistent shot albeit a mid range one instead of 3point shot.

Seems like he's trying to make sure other teams around the league get a good impression of the C's.
