The truth is: Pierce doesn't get calls anymore

I recall a time when Pierce was among the leaders in free throw attempts and was fouled regularly.
Furthermore, I did a search for Pierce on IMDB and a list of films came up. Below are some of what I saw.
Raw Deal 1986 - staring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Paul Pierce
A Low Down Dirty Shame 1994 - staring Keenen Ivory Wayans, Jada Pinkett Smith and Paul Pierce
Screwed 2000 - staring Norm MacDonald, Dave Chappelle and Paul Pierce
Dog Day Afternoon 1975 - staring Al Pacino and Paul Pierce

Well it's because Pierce has been getting fewer touches ever since the Celtics acquired Garnett and Allen. His usage rate dropped from the 30s to the 20s and hence you see a drop in his FGAs and FTAs.

Also Pierce has relied on his mid-range game he doesn't drive regularly to the hoop as he did a couple of years ago.

Pierce was having his best free throw percentage season this season in his career. But, that just means he's converting more shots and not necessarily receiving more free throw opportunities.

He takes more jumpers than he used to, so less calls. He doesn't get the Lebron James/ Wade treatment though.

Oh man, he
never got it to that extent. He used to go to the line a lot, but only when he really got beaten up on. Although when Amare smashed his face into the ground and knocked his teeth out, no foul....

What gets me... Didn't Pierce beat "the man" in the NBA, Kobe? So, give him the star treatment as well. I'll like to see Pierce receive the benefit of the doubt or his fair share of phantom calls by the referees for a change.
Flair said it best... Not that this entirely applies to Pierce, but you get the point.
In order to be the man, you have to beat the man. I'm Ric Flair! The Stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun! If you don't like it, learn to love it!

If there wasn't an anti-Boston bias in the league then Pierce would have been getting the star treatment and his head would have been to big to mesh with Ray and KG and we would not be contending for back to back championships.............
Thanks, Mr Stern!!!!!!!!!

I don't believe Pierce would ever have a bighead in this league. I mean life can humble a player real quickly and make you realize and appreciate the good fortunates afforded you by playing professional basketball. No one knows that more than Pierce. But, even he would admit that it would be nice to get some calls once in a while. I concur. But, the regular season is just that. It's the playoffs that you hope as a fan that the referees call it down the middle which sadly they rarely do. And that's the bigger issue here.

First of all Pierce never got a lot of calls...he was just relentless in taking it to the hoop and getting hammered (remember when Amare upended him and busted his teeth out=NO FOUL CALLED). Now he mixes it up more...he's older, maybe his body cannot take the constant pounding under the hoop especially when he knows he won't get the calls...
And the reffing during the CLE game was a travesty...when Varajackass has as many FTs as your whole team, you know it ain't on the level....
