Neither Rajon Rondo nor Glen Davis will be flying with the Celtics to Miami tomorrow for Wednesday night’s game, according to Doc Rivers.

The coach just said that their sprained right ankles will keep them sidelines until the weekend at least.

In addition, Rivers said Kevin Garnett (sprained right knee) won’t return this weekend against Milwaukee, as he previously hoped. Rivers is saying the following weekend’s trip to San Antonio and Memphis is a better bet.

Not good news...

I think this game on wednesday is the first of the season I fell we have no chance to win, we are lucky we have Memphis at home on friday.

Only good news on Rondo injury is Marbury gets more time to get aclimated and finally shows some game. Also Moore now will play big minutes. 5 players down...

Dude, way to keep the faith. Where were you on Friday night?

At this point in the season I'm glad they're being careful, I was more worried that Rondo would be rushed back on to the floor the way we struggle without him. Let him heal, if we lose we lose as long as Marbs and Moore get some burn to get them in shape and in rythm for the stretch run and playoffs. We're all worried about HCA (overly so) but getting to the playoffs healthy and in sync is more important.

Might this warrant a roster exemption? Any d-leaguers out there worth a flier?

Bring back Kevinn Pinkney!

Couldn't agree more. I agree with Doc that I'd rather have a healthy team and the 2 seed than a banged-up team and the 1 seed...

I am just worried Doc will play Paul and Ray 45 minutes again...He is killing them!

We are thin up front, but the next few games we don't play teams with very big front courts. We can play some small ball and play Walker some at the 4 and 3. His athleticism at the 4 spot could be beneficial to him driving to the basket. The guy is pretty good in the post also if being played by weaker PFs.

Fire Lacerte!!! But seriously, how the hell do you roll your ankle if its taped? I can't feel my feet when I get my ankles taped. Maybe they ask for a light tape job and suffer these injuries.

I was wondering the same thing about a roster exemption. we only have 9 guys to dress but that's probably enough for league rules. Still if we could sign a big man for 10 days that would good but I doubt we can do that

I think the precautions that the team is taking are without a doubt the right moves. At the same time its also a plus because it allows Starbury and Moore additional floor time. Cant wait to see our team at full strength though! :D

This is the Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies, not the 1987 Lakers. The Celtics absolutely have a chance to win both games and I would hope at least Rondo is back for Milwaukee on Sunday. If they can weather the storm of these next three games with at least two wins, then they are still in the race for home court. If not, then it just means plenty of rest for Paul, Ray, KG, Rondo and Perk down the stretch as everyone gears up for a playoff run on the road.

Seconded, I hope Doc just says screw it and throws in the young guns.

I read on ESPN that Doc said he cannot do that anymore, and someone else will need to step up. I'm looking for a big game from my boy Billy Walker. Cmon Skywalker, time to take flight and yam it on D-wade. 8-)

Anyone who expects too much from Walker and/or Giddens is setting themselves up for disappointment, but as warm bodies who can replace Paul and Ray during games, I'm all for it!

Walker looks decent tonight--albeit, the team as a whole is sucking (against the Heat), but still: Billy Walker can play.

^Yeah Walker looked pretty good...Giddens is trash, though, at least what little I've seen of him...

There are encouraging signs with Kevin Garnett, who has been out three weeks with a strained right knee. “He told me he felt great,” reported Rivers. “He felt the best he’s felt in a while. “That doesn’t mean he’s playing any time soon, but that’s a step forward for sure.” Garnett has been running on a treadmill, in addition to other strength-and- conditioning drills. There is a good chance he will play when the Celts hit the road for games in San Antonio and Memphis next week. Boston Herald

ps....Glen Davis (sprained right ankle) missed his second game last night and is “not going on the trip, I don’t think, unless I hear something different (today),” said Rivers. . . . 8-)
