http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/s ... iem-090312Found this on ESPN. It doesn`t look nice. I almost forgot we had a 27-2 start...It is a pity we have so many injuries lately they have cost us 4-5 games...

Yeah, if we go by that record, the Celtics are still in the battle for a playoff spot. But I'm looking for a late season surge when our guys get healthy, sort of ala San Antonio the last few years. It does need to start soon, though. Get KG and the boys back, start kicking asses/ taking names again, and remind the competition that they actually have no chance when it really counts.

it is disappointing to think what our potential record would be if we didn't go through that stretch where we lost our composure and this current stretch where we are plagued by injures.

We're playing fine with the roster we have.
Honestly, without KG, Rondo, and Big Baby...we aren't that talented of a team.
I mean we are depending on Miki Moore and Stephon Marbury to contribute for us to win.

Don't know if there is enough games left for you guys to catch Cleveland or not but I still think you will win the East. These teams are struggling to beat you guys as short handed as you are So when you get healthy I think your team will be better overall because you had to go deeper into your bench so they got quality minutes if needed in the playoffs.

This is a good point and one I can take solace in. A supposed "contender" like Orlando BARELY beat us when we were super shorthanded...same with Miami. Healthy, we win those games by 10 or more, easy...
But still we need to get healthy and NOW....

Yes, we're still pretty good with 2 starter and 3 rotation players out. My point wasn't that we would catch Cleveland. That's up to them ( and to the Stern/refs military industrial complex:wink: ). What's more important is to go into the playoffs healthy, confident, and on a bit of a roll. In the past 10 years or so both SA and LA didn't necessarily have the best record going into the playoffs, but when they met a team on the road in the playoffs, they'd find a way to steal one of the first two games and --presto!-- home court advantage magically shifts. This is what the Celtics need to be concerned about: taking care of business in the opening rounds and then knowing full well that they will need to do what I think only the Lakers have done so far this year, which is to beat the Cavs at home.
I think the C's starters need to be healthy to get to the ECF, so I'd rather not kill ourselves with a few extra regular season wins. If BOS/CLE get to the ECF, we are going to be in for some great basketball, and Cleveland, IMHO, will be very fortunate to get to Boston up two games, conspiracy theories be damned.

Indeed. If we hadn't lost so many games, our record would now be better.

Well its my true opinion. Look guys I'm a fan of the sport 1st then a Laker fan

I call it the way I see it. You guys are playing with a lot of heart & determination to be so short handed. Some games I've expected you guys to get waxed & you ended up applying the wax! I think Cleveland has a good chance yes, but they are relying on home court too much. Orlando will die by the 3 like they always do. I hope I'm right & hopefully we get out of the West & we can burn it up on the boards come June!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes every team needs a shot in the arm come playoff time. Yours will be getting all your players back, ours will be getting Big Drew back. That's already an advantage. Most teams are what they are going to be come playoff time, our teams have big wrinkles that will throw monkey wrenches in teams programs!!!!!!!!!

Here's another good way of looking at it C's fans...............believe it or not KG's down time will benefit him come playoff time and his legs will be a bit fresher considering he'll anchor your defense and be asked to carry an offensive load. Thus allowing Paul & Ray to regain some strength, Big Baby has seems to have gotten better than he was last year at this time and Powe has been steady anyway.
I know a lot of you here seemed worried about HCA, but truth be told and this is coming from a true Laker fan but the Celtics are more than capable of winning on the road. Like Dogen said all you need is one game and everything changes. I don't think teams like Cleveland and Orlando will really value the strength of HCA because they'll be so content just to have it.
Remember guys your stars win big games on the road, last I looked the Celtics have 3 while the rest of your east counter parts have one at the most. Remember there's a little business both of us still have to take care of ! Anybody there other than our teams makes this season a waste.
Good luck down the rest of the way guys !

Thanks for the kind words, man. I do hope we see another C's/Lakers finals...it's the best and most fun matchup possible. Of course, I hope the C's win, but it'd be a blast again!
I agree, Deep3CL, KG will be fresher, but at the same time I'm worried about how tired Paul and Ray may be come playoff time from shouldering so much of the load during this injured period...
