Nice to have 2 real point guards

Man that felt good for a change and to see the 2nd unit have a bit of flow and the press saw it too....

The Celtics got a glimpse last night of what Stephon Marbury may be able to offer them down the line. The free agent pickup celebrated his two-week anniversary with the club by going for nine points and five assists in 17 minutes.

Beyond the numbers, he just looked a lot more natural in the 102-92 win over Memphis, playing with a heretofore unseen certainty.

“I’m getting comfortable,” Marbury said. “I’m getting my legs under me.”

He looked good. However he was going against the second string of a 16 win team.

Marbury looked much more comfortable coming off the bench then starting. As a starter he was too confused. He had to think about getting Pierce/Ray involved and pick his spots where he can be aggressive and take it himself. Coming off the bench, he can just be aggressive and not have to think too much out there. I think this was a semi-breakout game for him and he'll continue to get better. Having him coming off the bench will not only provide us with a scorer/shot creator with the 2nd unit, but it will also help the rest of the guys in the 2nd unit playing with a real pg.

He was exactly what we were looking for him to be last night. He still has more then enough left in the tank athletic wise so we know its just a matter of shaking the rust off.

He is more then capable of being the high quality backup we signed him to be and he's going to be for at least three more years or so.
