Marbury seemed to take extra relish in his fourth-quarter trey, turning to pump his fist as he ran back down the floor after his only points of the game.

“There are going to be a lot of big shots for him,” coach Doc Rivers said. “He’ll get it. He’s going to win a big game in the playoffs for us, you just know that.”

Marbury hopes so.

“I know I’m capable of having games where I can score 30 or 40 points,” he said. “It’s just tough to get a lot of time on a team like this, but it will be a different rotation in the playoffs. I’m just continuing to build on what I’m learning.”

So far we haven't seen that type of scoring from him, but I guess it's good that he still has a good deal of confidence in himself. I think he needs to lead more with his offense and then let the passing come, instead of concentrating on passing. When the other teams begin to see him as a scoring threat again, it will open up the game for the rest of the players.

What do you think he means by 'it will be a different rotation in the playoffs'? First off, obviously KG will be playing more than 16 minutes a game. But It seems Steph expects to start seeing more time with the starters, maybe even to get the most minutes of anyone off the bench in the playoffs. I don't know if Doc has told him that, or if he just thought it up on his own.

I have kind of assumed all along he will eventually get the most minutes off our bench when he's completely back in shape.

Rondo - 36 / Steph - 12
Ray - 24 / Steph+Eddie - 24
Paul - 36 / Ray - 12 (spot minutes for Bill Walker)

That would be my ideal 1-3 position minutes. Obviously our front court is hard to tell right now because we don't know exactly who will be healthy.

All snideness aside, a PG like Rondo often is the guy who does the least standing around, on average, and hence needs the shortest minutes.

As long as Marbury understands he will not be starting, it should be all good come playoff time, assuming he gets his game mostly back on track...

The one lineup I dont want to see is Rondo/Marbury/Allen...I think Marbury/House is a great 2 unit. Marbury is to small to guard sg and also hasnt found his shot yet.

Maybe it would be wise in last 10 game or precisely in one stretch when we play 5 in a row at home to tell Murbury to score...Im disappointed in him so far, also I think he is making mistake trying to pass every time, also in times he has the open shot. I know he wants to be a pg and distribute the ball but he is over passing.

I'm hoping that Marbury and TA will eat into House's minutes a good deal in the playoffs. When defenses tighten up they'll give House a lot of problems and defensively we know he can be dreadful. Marbury, TA, Ray would be a lethal 1-2-3 combo in my opinion, and they would be good defensively.

But Marbury should definitely get the majority of the backup 1-2 minutes and if he plays well enough I don't see why he shouldn't take just about ALL of House's minutes. Just like Sam did but Marbury could actually be a difference maker.

Rondo is 23.... he can handle playing 36 MPG, if not more.

Starbaby is a confident guy....that's good......he can only get as many minutes as Doc gives him.

You bet he is a confident guy, he was the self-proclaimed best PG in the NBA only a few seasons ago.

Well yeah..he will be much better when he actually runs point with some first unit guys...He has not gotten much playing time with Ray and Paul, and has gotten even less time with KG. In the playoffs im sure Doc will eventually run some type of Marbs-Ray-Pierce, Garnett, Perkins lineup...and he will feast on teams defense...Marbury is a great player...im thinking he will be big for us in the playoffs like Doc said...

I keep hearing this about House, yet he was very effective in the playoffs last season....somebody is going to be open in the half-court when GPA and Rondo have the ball and command attention - House will get plenty of open looks at the basket.

If Marbury is back to form, he'll be getting all the backup PG and most of the backup SG minutes in all likelihood - House and TA are specialists - if Marbury is Marbury by playoff time, he's going to be playing a lot - its up to him to get there, but the minutes are there if he does.

Well said, I couldn't agree more.

House was not effective at all in the playoffs he shot 30%, he became usable against the Lakers. Eddie has to shoot the ball well to be on the floor, at present he is shooting the ball about as well as a man can but he has struggled in the postseason throughout his career. That said this has been his first crack at back to back postseasons on the same team.

The biggest issue with Marbury right now is that nobody outside of Pierce looks to find him and he is playing really unselfishly. He is trying to fit into the role Rondo carved out and he needs to establish himself. I agree that in the postseason it will be a lot more Marbs with 3 or even 4 starters than Marbs 4 bench players.

As far as 30 or 40 I would take 10.

To be honest, without Steph on the squad as the X factor I would not feel as confident in winning the chip this year. Ya'll hate all ya'll want about him saying he can drop 40 bc he has the confidence to know that he can if need be...if you read the WHOLE article he says he knows he does not have to and with the team he has you have to fight for minutes to just play...rondo is cocky as **** too but not too many people complain...

to be honest most great players are cocky as sh** just like Steph...I promise you Steph is going to be a PROBLEM come playoff time. Call me a homer...whatever. book it.

We are banged up and don't have homecourt, we need that extra all-star caliber talent to put us over the top, I cant wait for everyone to start eatin that crow once he balls out. Eddie at the point is a joke, Eddie spottin up is DEADLY....that alone is crazy. I am ready to go to battle with this team.

I wish we had a healthy Powe and Scal to give us some more options though. TA I can care less about.

It's true—Marbury has already scored 38 points this season.

I was really unimpressed with some of Marbury's passes. I think he's nervous still. He's trying a bit to hard to fit in.

We have time and he's getting bck in shape. I think the attitude that he wants to fit in is great. I assume he has the skills.

I thought the House playoff was seriously mismanged. It almost cost us the championship.
