Milli Moore is terrible!

Yes I know I spelled his name wrong but that is his new nickname I gave him. Because he's soft and fake like Milli Vanilli lol plus the hair.

I know he's TRYING to adapt and learn the defense but I've seen no improvement at all. He can't keep his feet on the floor and take a defender on, he just jumps at them like he's a shot blocker which he clearly isn't. He's way too thin and yes he can hit the "j" but I've been really disappointed by him and really think he's hurting us more than helping us. It sucks because we are lacking on size with Powe/Scal out so we have to play him. I like the energy and maybe some of KG will rub off on him but for now.....Milli You Suck!

/end rant

Yeah he has been pretty wretched...even PJ wasn't this bad when we first got him...oh well, he's what we've got, we better learn to deal with it...

But Danny certainly beefed this season on the bench...

I don't know why anyone is surprised by this??? What did you expect? Mikki Moore was NEVER a good player. He had 1 good season with New Jersey because he was dunking lobs thrown by Jason Kidd in his prime. He's one of the few CBA mainstays to strike it rich and get lucky in the NBA. He's NOT PJ Brown and never will be. PJ Brown was a fringe all-star for a decade. PJ Brown was a true professional and intelligent player. Mikki Moore is nothing more then an extra big Body (which we needed)...Mikki Moore thinks too much out there and gets himself in foul trouble.

Nobody on this site should be surprised that Mikki Moore isn't very good. I think we all have a decent basketball brain..Any decent basketball brain would agree that Mikki Moore was an emergency "body" in a time of need. doubt he'll contribute it any major way down the stretch or in the playoffs. I expect more out of Marbury.

seriously, i can't believe people were saying that he would be better than joe smith. mikki moore was a warm body with height during a time of need, that's all.

the saving grace is that he should be planted firmly on the bench come playoff time, well behind a healthy KG, baby, and powe.

This is what I agree with. Smith was a #1 pick!!! Has he been a bust as a #1 pick...sure, but he's still better than Moore!

I'm not surprised but it's just frustrating to watch him. I didn't think he would play this badly and hopefully we don't see him in the playoffs

I don't think anyone thought he would be better than Joe Smith, just better at playing center than Joe Smith who is a SF.

But there is no denying it he sucks, right now he is not that useful a player.

I don't know if he is just thinking things too much or he has just gotten old but he is nowhere near as active as I have seen him.

The only saving grace for me is that I felt the same way about PJ Brown last season at this point and he proved to be at least key in a few games in the postseason, so it may not be as bad as it looks at the moment.

To be fair to Mikki he is way better than PJ Brown was in the regular season we are just counting on him to play a much bigger role.

PJ Brown 2.2ppg/3.8rpg/34% in 11 mpg over 17 games
Mikki Moore 3.8ppg/3.7rpg/53% in 17mpg over 15 games

Right now Moore is 6 fouls and a body on our bench...that's about it...

HOPEFULLY Powe and Scal get healthy. I'd rather have Scal out there than Moore b/c Scal plays good and SMART defense and he hustles...and Powe is a beast and we need him out there to begin with.

I doubt Moore will play much in the playoffs, unless, God forbid, we suffer another injury.

But I still think we were a better team with a better supporting cast than last season. Even Cassell has played better than Marbury has so far. Brown>Moore, Cassell>Marbury, Posey>whoever else...but hopefully that turns around in the first two. No one will be able to replace Posey.

Come playoffs moore will be a foul trouble big and that's about it, he's playing a lot due to injuries and the need for him to learn the defense. When he learns where to be in the team defense I think he won't look quite so terrible, he's just late as hell on all his rotations right now, but either way if we are healthy I don't see him getting many minutes at all when it matters. I'd still rather see him out there than POB though, so I'm not upset about the move.

After the last couple of games, I'm thinking Blount was a better defender :o
Mikki tries a lot harder, but that body isn't much.

He is slight, but I see more of his trouble being mental when he is out there, he's just always a step or 2 late to where he needs to be whether it's setting a pick, getting to the spot for his jumper, or rotating defensively. All of these things should see *some* improvement as he gets used to playing for the C's. My biggest gripe thus far is how poor of a rebounder he seems to be in general for his quickness and height, I just don't understand how he's not a better rebounder. He even seems to try hard. Poor BBIQ maybe? I don't get it. Mark Blount in a contract year > better defender, Mark Blount's defense any other time < a puddle of butt sweat.

Mikki Moore is not as bad as some people are making him out to be, his biggest problem is he is thinking too much as opposed to just playing. I have no problem with him getting 6-8 minutes per game. If he is getting 20 minutes per game then the Celtics could be in trouble.

Hey, what's wrong with you people!?! Give him a chance. Don't you remember all the Big Baby bashing, only to see him flourish and become one of our most effective players? You just wait! And wait... then keep waiting... then wait some more... a little more... hold on... just a bit longer... hmmm... nah, its never gonna happen. The man is just plain horrible.

Yet, sadly, still better than POB.

Still, horrible.

His rebounding issues are amazing. When Davis fails at a rebound, he usually made a solid effort to block out, but hey -- the other guys get paid too, and in particular they're tall, agile, and able to jump.

When Moore fails at a rebound, I wonder what he was even trying to do -- if anything.

BTW: My wife typically watches only a few quarters of regular season ball a year. Her comments on the Magic game included being amazed at Moore's skinniness and being outraged at Rondo passing out of the post instead of finishing a drive himself.

:)

Sorry, but no. Even if he'd shot 0% Brown would've been more useful than Mikki's been so far.

I'll never understand why the Celtics didn't try to sign Chris "Birdman" Anderson during the last off-season. Denver got him dirt cheap, so obviously he was available.

He's EXACTLY what this team needs. It's such a no-brainer that it's baffling to me. Yeah, yeah, the drug thing, but from all accounts, he was and is, great to work with. It definitely would've been worth the risk.

"Milli Moore is terrible"... and yet he is still out rebounding and out shooting the supposedly excellent bench player Glen Davis.

Yes Moore has looked sloppy, but (A) he is new to the team, and (B) he isn't exactly competing minutes against NBA elites.

Give him time to learn the system. Watch some film of him vs. Cleveland in the playoffs 2 yrs ago. Guy's solid and is a better shooter than Joe Smith.

I don't know if he is a better player than Smith, but I do think he fits this team better and only looks lost because of the system. Not to mention, Smith was pretty much going to Cleveland all along. Mikki won't be a guy that causes chemistry issues arguing about playing time, either.

Matt Barnes too, i think there were a few guys that the C's didnt push hard enough for in the off-season

however, we have what we have now... Powe and Baby will have a slightly bigger role in the playoffs this season and Moore will have slightly less then PJ had, it all works out.. we'll be fine
